Description

Minimalist.

Summer's warmest days may have you debating ditching the gloves, but rogue branches have a knack for finding knuckles anytime you leave them bare. Keep covered without stifling layers of fabric with the Dakine Insight Gloves. Dakine crafts the Insight Glove for days when you just can't justify the stifling coverage of padded gloves when the temperatures soar — or for those just looking for minimalist feel for total tactile connection to the bike.

The lightweight construction starts with featherweight 4-way stretch mesh on the back of the hand, while the palm offers seamless silicone mesh to let fresh air on on both sides — a welcome gift when you're cranking up switchbacks and exposed fire roads in the peak of summer. The synthetic fibers in the mesh have a knack for pulling away sweat when you start to get warm, while the grippy palm keeps you glued to the bike. Because your thumb and trigger fingers see most of the action on the bike they're topped with silicone overlays to maximize control of your brakes and shifters.

  • Lightweight control for soaring temperatures
  • Fully ventilated construction keeps you cool
  • Wicking materials pull away sweat and dry quickly
  • Silicone grip tops up thumb and finger for non-slip control
  • Soft thumb panel for wiping sweat from your brow

Descent gloves for a casual ride

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using these gloves for the past month now, overall the gloves have been adequate. The rubber grips on the palms of the gloves are almost completely gone and the seam between the thumb and index on my right glove has began to come undone. The gloves fit well and are easy to get on and off; the addition of the soft thumb panel is great for getting the sweat off your face after a long hill climb. These gloves would probably be great for a casual rider who wants some lightweight hand protection but if you are like me and ride on rough and root plagued trails these aren't the gloves for you. Bottom line, the gloves fit great and have some nice features but the durability is sub-par.

Great Gloves

These are pretty great. Very easy to get on and get off, and they stay with the handle while riding. Really dig how lightweight they are as well. Well worth the price, and more points in favor to Dakine for what they're doing lately. Fantastic stuff!
