Low-profile trail protection.

As the lightest and slimmest knee pads on the market, the Dainese Trail Skin Knee Guards offer highly flexible, ultra-breathable protection from nasty spills without restricting pedaling movement or causing irritation on longer rides. Pro Shape protection sandwiches a layer of impact-absorbing foam within its honeycomb-like design. The result is a 6mm knee pad rated to European standards (EN 1621.1), with perforation holes for cool-wearing comfort. Further contributing to its ventilated feel, breathable jersey hole mesh quickly disperses perspiration during long uphill slogs and warmer conditions. Plus, its roll-down design allows extra freedom and cooling when you're pedaling uphill for long distances.

  • Lightest, slimmest mountain bike knee pad in Dainese's line
  • Balances protection and efficient pedaling
  • Multi-material padding proves lightweight can be tough
  • Roll-down design provides relief while you're earning the downhills

Works for me

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Size Bought: large

I'm 6' 175 lbs. A tall thin build. I don't have thick calves or thighs. The large size works well for me. If my calves and thighs were bigger I think they would still fit fine. I do find that they have to be secured pretty well so the top doesn't slip down. They can get into the upper knee area and bother me. When I get them right I don't notice them while I'm riding.

is the dainese trailskins knee guard the 2016 or 2015 version?

Hey Leslie - These are the 2016 version of the Dainese Trail Skins Knee Guards. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Before these I had some dinky thin fox pads that were making my knee hurt from being too tight. These have more room around the knee cap so my knee does not start popping like it did in the fox ones.

Will post another review have i have them out a few more times, Moto and Bike.

Didnt really buy it for its intended use

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Haha after searching for a solid pair of knee pads I decided to pull the trigger on these and give them a shot. I was starting a home remodel project and needed some knee pads that would be comfortable while laying down some hardwood flooring. These were amazingly comfortable and was referred to give them a shot by a friend that is also an iron worker and avid mountain biker. He started using his for work and never looked back. They allow so much mobility and arent restrictive.

Not sure why some of these companies don't make neutral colors. I really don't want bright red or yellow logos on my kit. So, I won't buy what is a really good product. Dainese, give us a plain ole' black.

Hi Robert,

That is what a permanent marker is for, ala the Castelli Gabba Pro Edition Jersey.

I know. Some of use don't like looking like a page out of a Bike Mag.
