Description

Makes every ride sweeter.

Give the Crank Brothers Candy 3 Pedals a serious look if you're the type of rider who's a bit more discerning about what components you choose for your beloved trail bike or cross-country rocket. Upgraded over the Candy 2 Pedals with a slightly stronger and fancier 17-4PH stainless steel wing, the Candy 3 is that much more resilient to accidental strikes on rocks, roots, and unforgiving trail surfaces—all while shaving approximately 15 grams of weight from the Candy 2.

The Candy 3 retains all the beloved characteristics of the Candy series, including the mud-shedding design, intuitive four-sided entry, and slightly larger platform for locating the pedal after dismounts on technical terrain. Its slightly textured body gives your shoes a bit of grip when you're locating the pedal, especially when it's slippery out on the trail. Customizable release angles of 15 or 20 degrees mean you'll be able to bail at a moment's notice when things get sketchy or retain a bit more security on rough and ragged stretches of trail. Best of all, its versatility lends itself to widely varying riding disciplines, ranging from cyclocross racing to competitive XC and aggressive trail rides alike.

  • Versatile and intuitive pedal for cyclocross, XC, and trail
  • Upgraded with a more durable 17-4PH stainless steel wing
  • 6061-T6 aluminum body withstands occasional rock strikes
  • Four-sided entry makes it easy to locate clip-in interface
  • Mud-shedding design works great in mucky trail conditions
  • Customizable release angles of 15 or 20 degrees
  • Includes Crank Brothers Premium Brass Cleates

Have to say no, not 'in' to them.

I have been using SPD pedals for years and I wanted to add a small platform for my gravel bike. I have been easily able to get in and out of even the cheapest SPD's but these pedals are very difficult to find the sweet spot. You have to find just the right spot and them push you foot forward to get in. They do feel supportive once you are in. And it is nice to be able to use your SPD shoes. I would not recommend them to anyone doing any riding where you are frequently clipping in and out.

Have ridden egg beaters for years but missed having some kinda platform. These Candy 3's have been flawless. Same super easy in n out and secure hold from the egg beaters, with a nicer platform to stand on.

Do these pedals have the old bearings or the Igus bearings?

Same Same

These aren't horrible, and I can see why somebody would dig them, but I just feel like they're not worth the price in comparison to so many other pedals out there. From what I can tell they seem pretty durable, but the included cleats seemed a bit lackluster. I've found pedals easier to use for much, much cheaper, that don't sacrifice anything cost. This is similar to what I've said about the Candy 2's, but the price is even more out there for this one. Yeah, that's going to be a no from me dog.

Candy is dandy.

Absolutely love the Candy 3s. Running them on my Santa Cruz Bronson and they feel really good for the type of trail riding I do here in Northern Utah. Not only that, but they're of much higher quality than the cheaper Candy 1s, meaning they're much more likely to last throughout an entire season of aggressive riding, versus the cheaper Candy 1s, which will certainly blow up after a summer's worth of thrashing 'em on the trail. Another thing I like with the Candy 3s is the resounding click I hear and feel while clipping in, which gives you a nice tactile sensation that's confidence inspiring before plunging into a technical stretch of trail. The cheaper version of these pedals (e.g. Candy 1) felt much more vague underfoot, as the plastic platform doesn't feel as stable or secure as the aluminum body found on these pedals.

Great pedals

We got these for my wife’s Peloton bike. They’re easy to install, easy to clip into and out of, and the float gives enough movement for her knees to be comfortable while still providing stability.

Nice Pedals

Use these on my Tallboy 3, light and work well.
