For hardpack cyclocross courses, Continental offers the Speed Tire. The shallow knobs on the center section let this tire put your power to the dirt instead of warping the knobs, and it allows this tire to roll faster on dry and hardpack conditions. The high-volume casing gives this tire a nice, supple ride, without sacrificing Cyclocross durability.

Fast rolling and great on rough pavement

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Used this as a fast commute tire this past winter in the constant rain and cold of Seattle, WA. It held up great, had good traction in the wet and was very fast rolling.

GOOD Clincher NOT GOOD tubeless

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This tire is fast on hard pack terrain and is pretty good as a standard clincher. However, I had it set up as tubeless by my lbs and have had nothing but problems. The continental website says "tubeless ready" and they were mounted on stans grail rims. The front tire lasted 2 miles and the rear was less than a mile. I definitely would NOT RECOMMEND FOR TUBELESS SETUPS.

Is this tire tubeless ready?

This is not a tubeless tire but some people have had luck with the right rim combination and a Stan's setup.
