Racing Team Short Sleeve Jersey

We admit we're a bit biased, but our pro team looks awfully, well, professional, in their kits. Eye-catching in the peloton and photogenic on the podium, the crisp white and black kits are some of the best looking of the domestic pro teams.  You may not climb like Paco, or time trial like Olheiser, but that shouldn't stop you from looking good on your bike. Stunning design and podium results aside; our team loves these kits, and for good reason.

The Competitive Cyclist team jersey is from the Giordana FormaRed series, which uses Giordana's most advanced materials and design work. Aptly named Body Clone, it uses Giordana's form-fitting cut and styling. 

The first thing you'll notice about the jersey is its weight, or lack thereof. It's as light as some base layers. Two fabrics, Asteria and Ametista, give the jersey its lightness. Asteria helps give the jersey a soft, stretchy feel and is woven in a honeycomb pattern to help wick moisture away from the skin. Ametista includes carbon fibers for durability and to limit stretch in certain directions. It's used at the waist and cuffs, keeping the jersey in place without the need for gripper elastic.

A fabric called Antigua is used to back the Ametista, and due to its perforated design, increases airflow through the jersey to keep you cool. Another fabric, MCK, forms the 'Y' shape in the back of the jersey. How often has a reasonably sized jersey begun to sag during a ride because you've stuffed a few things in your pockets? MCK is designed to prevent vertical stretch that leads to the dreaded sag. Flat-stitched seams contribute to the sleek fit.

A full-length, cam-lock zipper allows you to further modulate cooling while small fabric flaps at the top and bottom of the jersey prevent the teeth of the zipper from catching on the fabric. Given the snug cut of the FormaRed Carbon, we like the fact that the left and right pockets are cut on an angle to make it easier to fish out food while riding. The middle pocket maintains a high capacity for storage, big enough for a vest; it's also graced with a single, zippered pocket overlaid on the middle pocket, perfect for a driver's license or single key, should you have something you can't risk losing. Reflective piping at strategic points will help keep you noticeable to traffic in lower-light situations.
