Solid pair of pants
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
These are the first pair of riding pants I've bought. I was very happy with them right out of the package, Comfortable, good material, and easy to ride in. I've only gone down the street and not off on trail though. But I think they'd be just as comfortable. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I thought they'd be a little more tapered at bottom of leg. More of a boot cut style pant. I would still recommend them.
Impressed
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I purchased these pants to commute in. I've become somewhat of a goldilocks when it comes to dressing for the weather - too hot, too cold, but never just right. These pants have now filled a crucial gap for me. I wear them alone from the low 30s to 40s, pair with a set of thermal knickers down to the low teens, and thermal tights get me a few more degrees. I had my first crash in them yesterday - Too cocky to put studs on the tires, bunny hopped over a snow bank directly onto some slush I was going about 19 mph, and slid quite a ways on that wet slushy mix. The pants show the tiniest sign of abrasion, yet my pogies and jacket burned through in a few spots. I would not hesitate to pick up another pair!
Perfect Cold Weather Riding Pant
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
These pants work great when the temp drops and you still want to get out and ride. Seems odd to mountain bike in pants, but you really don't notice in the Fat Jack Pant, which are just as comfy as your favorite short. Good amount of stretch and fit is spot on. Highly recommend for the shoulder season.
