Still the classic.

Cinelli cork tape has been The Reference road bar tape since the early 90s. Why?

Cinelli invented "cork" (cork/pu/foam) handlebar tape in 1987. It quickly revolutionized handlebar tape. When I think we used to wrap our road bars in shiny hard plastic Bennoto tape -which provided essentially zero shock absorbtion- I shudder.

Today... Cinelli cork tape still looks the best (imho), comes in a large selection of cool looking colors, and works fantastic. It is soft, grippy, and shock-absorbing. It really does provide fantastic grip and control.

If you regularly ride rough roads or have wrist pain or carpal tunnel, buy Cinelli "cork-gel" tape at $22/pkg (less on sale). It looks and feels the same, but features a base layer of silicon, and is even more shock absorbing.

***By the way, Cinelli cork tape cost $12-14/pkg! That value, ladies and gentlemen, is unsurpassed in the cycling bar tape world.

Yes, there are now scores of other cork/gel/pu bar tape choices. But none imo have surpassed Cinelli in function, feel, looks, and especially in price.

P.S. -Use black electrical tape to finish wrapping your bars. It looks much cleaner than the supplied logo finishing tape.

    Comfortable and good looking

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Got this tape in orange for my girlfriend's new bike. It loos great and is comfortable and grippy.

    Great Grip

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've loved the feel of this while riding. My old grip didn't have much give, but this one is perfect. I used it during LoToJa and forgot it was on the handlebars, which is what you hope for. I bought grey and so far it's stayed somewhat clean too.

    Bar tape brand bar tape.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

In the beginning, there was Cinelli cork tape. Since then, there have been innumerable efforts to reinvent the simplest, most basic element of a bicycle. The only appropriate response to this epidemic of over-engineering is: Git'cher damn hands off'a my bar tape.

    New bike feel for cheap

Cork tape feels great to the touch, cheap way to treat yourself to new bike feel.

      Cinelli Cork Tape

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

One of the best cork tapes out there. Very easy to manipulate during wrapping and durable once on the bars.

      good bargain

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

i do have tape i like a little better overall but for the price if your not racing or riding 100 miles this is a bargain

      Solid Tape

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great bar tape for the price, easy to wrap, comfy and does a good job of dampening bumps and more colors than the rainbow, can't go wrong.

      Excellent tape

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Cinelli is as good as any and usually cheaper to boot. The colors are vibrant and grip is good wet or dry. Doesn't hurt to have a stock of tape in your garage or shop.

      Fine Quality

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like this tape, but I prefer the gel cinelli better. I'm not changing it until it wears out as there is nothing really wrong with this, but for a bit more squish, go with gel.

      Comfy and great colors

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Definitely solid bar tape. It provides enough cushioning for a comfortable ride, and it lasts for quite a while. Plus, it's super affordable and the colors are great!

I'm going to put this on everything!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Steering wheels, shovel handles, lawnmowers, you name it. I replaced my tape about 1100miles ago with Cinelli for the first time and it leaves nothing to be desired. I ride a pretty low-end specialized on relatively crappy roads and this tape knocks down a lot of vibration. I don't ride with gloves, and there is no need. This tape is plenty thick and holds up well.

      Feels Great

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just replaced the tape that came on my bike. It was long overdue. I chose this because of the price and the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the tape. It feels great. I was not looking for something with over the top padding. This tape has just enough to feel comfortable but not squishy. I'll have to wait and see how it wears, but my initial impressions are very positive.
