I love Cinelli products and in particular I love their handlebar tape. I bought the orange and it is crap. It felt semi-crunchy when I installed it and it is super super slippery when it gets wet. I live in St Pete so it is always wet from rain or sweat. I bought two rolls of orange because it was on sale. I took the first roll off because I thought it was just a bad roll. but the second roll was exactly the same. I had never ordered from CC before so I don't know if it is really old stock or maybe it wasn't stored in the best conditions. I would buy Cinelli again, but not from CC and not orange.

I have been using Cinelli tapes in one form or another since the early 80s, and have occasionally tried other brands, but I always come back to Cinelli. Nothing else is as comfortable, good looking, durable, or easy to clean. I always use white (so professional looking) and it looks great all year, sometimes two years. You would be a fool to get anything else!

Favorite bar tape

One of my favorite bar tapes, go to and I always order another so I have spare from Competitive because they seem to keep the best price on it. Simple, effective, slight bit of stick but can be re-taped as needed, soft on the hands but provides good grip. Last long enough, although I tend to change it out every 3-6 months to continue to provide good comfort and happy hands.

Good tape, can get slippery, bad plugs

The good: for the price, this is good bar tape. Just the right amount of squish and vibration damping, and good color selection. The bad: this tape can get slippery when wet, which I found out the hard way on a bumpy descent after a hard, hot climb--I hit a bump going pretty fast and one hand slipped off the bars; by some miracle I didn't end up in the ravine off the side of the road. Also, and this is less of big deal, the bar plugs don't stay in very well compared to other brands, and they lack reflective bits. You get what you pay for, I guess. I've been reusing some old SRAM bar plugs, which are way better.

I wouldn't quit raving about how great these were when I first got them, over a year later and they seem to be tear-resistant, have some cuts on mine and they are still holding tight.

Nice soft and durable tape. Very easy to maneuver and put on. I will be sticking with the tape for a while! The price is great too!

These tape kits are great, they come with everything you need to wrap that new build or that vintage Cannondale you (I) saved from the trash. The tape itself is wide and come with a sticky tape on the back that helps position it and keep it in place as you wrap the bars. No tape will survive a crash without tears but for general use, I've found it to be plenty durable and easy to clean. The kit comes with bar end caps as well as branded electrical tape for finishing off your wrap job cleanly. I suggest hitting the edge of the black tape with a little superglue for added durability. Match the color of your bike or get funky with the variety of colors offered. This is my go to tape for sure.

I've had this tape on many bikes over the years. It's not fancy but it gets the job done. Being so affordable it's not a big deal to re-wrap it once or twice a season when it tears. It's decently cushy (the gel cork version is quite cushy), has a tape backing for easy install, and looks good on most bikes. These days I've on grippier Lizard Skins but I feel I'll find my way back to Cinelli cork one day.

The Cinelli cork tape is a solid bang for your buck when it comes to bar tape. Its cushy and comfortable, and the colors look great, too.

This cork tape is great quality. If you go for a lighter color keep in mind your grimmy hands will make it look gross quicker than your dark tones.

I put this bar tape on my Kona Paddy Wagon commuter and it works great! It's super plush and comfortable and I like the cork speckles in the color. Tons of sweet colors and I went with the yellow!
