Hit the streets with the weatherproof protection of the Chrome Yalta 2.0 Pack. This slick commuter pack is an update to the iconic performance of the original Yalta Pack, with updated color schemes and a wider opening for easy-access. Practically bombproof, the pack's Custom HBT shell fabric resists hardcore use and abuse, while the weatherproof tarpaulin liner protects the pack's contents from soaking showers and inclement weather.

This roll-top pack secures your everyday items and most 15-inch laptops (fits a 15-inch MacBook), thanks to a large main compartment with integrated laptop sleeve. This main compartment features a side-access zip, allowing you to grab internal contents without undoing the camlock buckle located at the top. Looks pretty

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

So I just received the bag in the mail the other day, and it'll be some time before I can really test it out. But my initial thoughts... The top opening is VERY small. Not sure how this'll work out for grocery shopping and larger loads vs. a traditional courier bag. Was expecting a nylon outer to the bag, but it's a sort of rubberized material. Which is fine, it appears to be quite rain resistant. Would have liked the shoulder straps to be a bit sturdier, they feel a bit flimsy. Oh and the laptop compartment. Threw me off a little. You can access the entire innards of the bag from the compartment. Little strange, but we'll see how it works out . All in all, I just wish it really had a bigger top, but I think that may screw with the "esthetics" of the bag if it were any larger. Hey chrome! Function before Fashion!

love it

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have the original version of this pack and love it. The top opening is a little small, but it appears that Chrome fixed that with this version.

Product photos for some colors are wrong

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Check on chromes site before buying. A few of the product photos associated with this listing are wrong. I believe most of the black colors are mixed up or the photo shown isn't available and the lighting in the photos of the brown and blue are kind of misleading.

I ordered the night color expecting what is shown in the product photo but the product photo is actually of the color black, which is not available.

Besides that hole ordeal, the quality of the bag seemed pretty good. It seems like this thing would bomb proof. Though, the design of the bag, to me felt sloppy to me. It didn't seem like a lot of thought went into details of the bag, which is something I personally value. It's also pretty heavy, but that's to be expected with a waterproof bag. Ultimately, I went with a canvas bag that is waterproof and has more organization and attention detail and then just bring along a rain cover.

Rainproof

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this for my daughter who just moved to Seattle and needed a pack that would be usable in PNW weather. I haven't had a chance to give it to her yet but a co-worker who saw I'd gotten it said that it was his go-to pack for the years he was bike commuting in Seattle, and the rain never once got through to his laptop. He says if you need something weatherproof, this is definitely THE bag. He did say that he felt it was a little heavy, but honestly, it doesn't seem any heavier than any other commuting bag I've looked at.

Updated!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been using the original Yalta as my daily computer bag for the last 5 years, and it's still in great shape! The space is perfect and it has everything you need, and nothing you don't. For the 2.0, they fixed my only bit of feed - the opening size. Other than that it's about the same and construction appears to be the same. overall, a great laptop back or weekend travel pack.

Favorite bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My favorite bag for commuting. Super weather resistant and comfortable. All straps and materials are very high quality. Only drawback is that it is kind of heavy even when empty, but for me it it worth in exchange for comfort and durability. Pumped to wear this bag for years to come.

Great backpack!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this backpack. Like all of Chrome's bags this is really well made. It holds an absurd amount of stuff without becoming encumbering. I have not had a single instance where this bag has been uncomfortable to wear. I have subjected this to heavy rain for hours on end without so much as a single drop of water getting in. I have no worries sticking my laptop in this and braving the elements.

Hi, are there any differences between this and the 2.0 model construction wise?
