Item # CRM003U

Built for the ride.

Sure, cutoff jeans are economical and work just fine for short-distance rides, but when you're in the saddle for more than a few minutes at a time, shorts actually designed for the rigors of riding make all the difference. That's where Chrome's new Folsom Shorts come in.

These shorts are made from the water-resistant, durable 4-way stretch Everest fabric, which means that they're going to pull sweat away from your skin and repel moisture at the exterior. In other words, you're going to stay dry, cool, and comfortable throughout your ride.

In terms of construction, Chrome cut the Folsoms specifically for riding. There's a five-bar webbing U-Lock holster, the rear pockets are "floating" to prevent chafing, the crotch is double-gusseted and seamless, and the shorts are sewn with a three-needle flatlock stitch throughout in order to prevent irritation. Your skin will thank you for leaving the cutoff dungarees in the closet.

Note: Chrome has updated the fit this season to be more true-to-size. So, if your old pair of Folsoms fit fine, you'll want to buy one size smaller this go-round.

  • Casual style meets cycling-specific performance
  • Everest 4-way stretch fabric moves with you
  • Water-resistant for unpredictable weather
  • Slim fit offers modern style
  • Seamless double-layer crotch for comfort and durability

These shorts are so much better than I expected.. They fit well, look great and the stretchy-ness of the Everest fabric is pretty awesome. These shorts look great. You can dress them up or down. I've cycled, hiked, and gone to dinner in these shorts all in the same day. They are pricey, but my guess is I will own these shorts for years to come.

These are pretty expensive but I got them on sale ($35 off). I wanted to test how comfortable they were on medium length rides because I don't like to wear padded tights. Wore them on a 30 mile ride on a road bike with no padded liner shorts underneath, just regular underwear. I could have done another 10 with no problem. The shorts were slightly damp since it was a hot and humid day but dried quickly. The waist fit perfect. I usually take a 34 or 35 in khakis and like a loose fit since I wear them lower on my hips. The 34 was great. The model is pretty tall so I was concerned about the length. These came to the middle of my knee cap and I am 5'10". Again, for me perfect. Some people have stated that the pockets are not very deep. I would agree, however on my rides with these I have had an iPhone 6 in one front pocket and credit cards and cash in the other and never felt like they would fall out. Another thing I like is that the fabric is quick drying but you can not tell they are technical pants, they look like any other pair of shorts that you would wear around town or in a city. I plan to wear these on any rides under 50 miles. Over that I may put on a thin pair of padded liners.

First, these seem like a really well-made pair of shorts. No complaints about the quality, and the "ink" color at least looks really good for a softshell material. Not super pleased with the fit though, and writing this to help others out. First, the hips are kinda poofy. People mentioned this in reviews of previous versions of the shorts and it still holds true. It's because the front of the pocket doesn't lay flat. Minor but worth mentioning. I'm 5'9" and the hem hits me in the middle of the kneecap with the 32" waist. More of a boardshort look than I was hoping for. Waist is pretty true to size... I wear 165 and 31" in Levi's, and the 32 is loose on me.

I got these for my guy for biking to work in the summer, and he loves them. They have a nice, forgiving stretch to them, while still holding plenty of structure. You can tell they are made to last. He ends up wearing them casually all the time, since they're so stylish and comfortable. The perfect summer shorts!
