There was a time when the only way to find a tough and durable courier bag was to build it yourself. Urban cycling apparel had yet to become readily available, requiring couriers and urban riders to improvise with gear designed for other sports. Recognizing the lack of durable urban cycling products available to consumers, the founders of Chrome headed out to their garage in Boulder, Colorado to start sewing. Using functional used car seatbelts for straps and vinyl from old furniture for bag liners, Chrome began building some of the toughest, most functional courier bags anywhere. Word traveled fast, and soon Chrome packed up shop and moved to San Francisco, home to an eclectic urban cycling scene. Fourteen years later Chrome has expanded their line from courier bags to shoes to clothing-all built with the same quality and craftsmanship that has become synonymous with Chrome.
