Not much I can say to improve upon the previous reviews. If you're building a bike from the ground up, save your self some hassle down the road and start with the best. Anodizing is perfectly done as well - add some flash to your ride and avoid being just another black bike.

Incredible bearing life. Chris King is truly a headset that will last the lifetime of your bike. Worth the money to invest.

You pay a premium, but I don't think you can go wrong with anything Chris King makes.

Smooth Turns
This thing kicks major A at keeping my forks connected to my frame! (note: that nut on top is actually a retro-looking spacer.)

It will Outlast Your Frame

Installation was easy on the 44mm headtube of my hardtail. After installing and an easy adjustment it has not required any other service or maintenance. King headsets are built to last a long time and will outlast your frame. The bonus is that you can put it on your next bike, the one after that, and the one after that and it will still work like the day you purchased it.

CK headsets are where it's at. Over the years I've strayed from them, most recently was for a Cane Creek 110 (super awesome by the way, same price range too) but I keep coming back to CK. It may have to do with all the color options they offer... Anyhow, it sure is a ton of coin to drop on a headset, but they work flawlessly. Tech notes: I almost went with the Inset 1 since my current fork is a non-tapered 1 1/8, but then I got to thinking, most forks these days are going the tapered route. I plan on upgrading in the future. Keep that in mind when ordering.

Header.
I decided to future proof this build by getting the Inset 7 so I could run 1.5's in the future. Hopefully not that distant of a future!

Will this model fit a Specialized Epic...
Will this model fit a Specialized Epic Comp Carbon 2013? Don't want to buy unless certain of fit.

Doesn't look like it. Specialized says on their website that the headset on the Epic Comp Carbon is 1-1/2", which is only 38mm. So I think this one would be too small. Keep in mind though, there's an unconditional return policy so you could order it and try it out, and then it if doesn't work just send it back. No harm done.
