Gravel Grinder TLR Tire

Challenge is already quite well known among the cyclocross community offering supple casings and treads to tackle various conditions on courses across the globe, so it only makes sense for the company to focus this attention into the burgeoning gravel world as well. The Italian firm has come out swinging with some excellent options and the Gravel Grinder TLR Tire is one were very excited to try off the beaten path. Developed for harder packed dirt roads or stringing up and an all road adventure with just enough tarmac between the fun bits, the tread is very similar to its 'cross-going Chicane model, however, the widths are optimized for riding and racing outside the course tape offering better grip and traction over looser surfaces. That higher volume, along with the ability to run lower pressures thanks to its tubeless construction, contributes to a smoother ride, letting you save energy and gain confidence while providing the durability needed while exploring uncharted territory.

The Gravel Grinder TLR has a fast rolling center file tread pattern with aggressive side knobs so you're fast on the pavement and hardpack while still offering impressive traction over looser terrain and while cornering hard. We're most excited about the ability to run some sealant and enjoy the security of riding and racing over sharp flits and goatheads without losing time or DNFing because of an excessive amount of flats. The tires are offered in 33, 38, 42, and 46mm options so you can find the right speed/comfort/grip combination for your local gravel and riding style.

worked great on White Rim

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I used the 700x42 as a rear on my Pinarello gravel bike and rode the White Rim trail and had no issues with the tire. It rolled fast, gripped well, and has not suffered any damage despite being subject to many rocky, ledgy drops and some rockier mountain bike trails. It was pretty easy to mount on a FSA Vision Trimax 30 rim with a compressor to seat the bead. I don't know what this other person was talking about as far as sandy jeep roads go the White Rim consists largely of sandy jeep roads and this tire worked great in areas other than super deep sand and climbs too steep and sandy to ride anyway. I did not notice any issues with grip on the climbs. The center tread is pretty "slick" but I wouldn't say they slip on climbs anymore than any other knobby mountain bike tire would slip on a steeper climb.
