You're fast, and you know it. You crush time trials and races without a hitch, and you're friends are always trailing on group rides. You've got big goals, but you need the best gear and a bike that improves on speed and rigidity - a bike that lets you shine. The S5 Disc Force eTap AXS is that bike. Cervelo built this steed for the fastest sprinters in the world. It's stiffer and more aerodynamic than ever, but it doesn't sacrifice comfort or quality. It's a road bike for the rider that thrives on the exhilaration of going fast. Like, uber-fast. The S5 will give you every advantage.
Aerodynamics is absolutely everything in the engineering of a speedy bike. In fact, aero drag accounts for as much as 90% of overall rider resistance. But, Cervelo used special frame tubing and design features to improve the aerodynamics of the S5 so you can continue crushing watts with reduced drag. This new S5 is a noticeable 42g, or 5.5 watts, faster than its predecessor and you'll see that sprinting across the flats.
Cervelo engineered the S5 to be stiffer at the head tube for more sturdy and reliable handling. The stiffness from this ride is everything a sprinter could want, and there's a notable difference between this new S5 and its predecessor. The bottom bracket has also been engineered for 25% more rigidity than the previous S5, so more power goes into turning the rear wheel.
Thanks to Cervelo's TrueAero technology, tube shapes, sizes and design features see improved aerodynamic flow that is tailored specifically for each of the brand's bikes and their intended uses. The leading edge of the rear wheel is shielded to significantly improve aerodynamic performance, and with the BBright system, larger-sized tubes are used in the seat tube, down tube and lefthand chain stay for increased stiffness and pedaling power. Despite the S5 having a lightweight frame, there's still that rigid power that works to not waste energy on your ride.
The S5 will deliver a perfect fit, control and comfort. The frame's stiffness and geometry work to handle pedaling efficiency and stability while the and up to 28mm tires dampen road vibrations and make for a smoother ride. You'll see improved stability, design, comfort and speed with this new S5.
