Making the bell cool.
Bells aren't always the coolest accessory for your ride. Worse, mandatory bell laws in some areas of the country (lookin' at you, NYC) basically require you to dial up the dorkiness a bit, which can be seriously uncool for certain machines. With bells like the CatEye Yamabiko, however, you can at least do so with some retro style — plus you can tell your friends that "yamabiko" means "echo" in Japanese. The aluminum clamp holds up a brass bell that looks classy on any ride. Available in Copper and Gold finishes.

- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
When I received this bell I was excited. I was impressed with the appearance and rich tone. I feel there is a design flaw though. Look closely at the picture and you will see that the ringer is only attached by one thin coil of a spring. After a few weeks of use- flicking the ringer back and forth wore the one coil attaching it to the bell, and it broke. Looking back it seems obvious that a thin steel spring would weaken under repeated back and forth tension.
