Call us crazy, but not before you take a look at Cat Eye's Volt 6000 Headlight. This new kid at the headlight lunch table makes its arrival boasting a whopping 6000 lumen output in its highest mode. With that much light, you'll see every jump lip, exposed rock, and brake rut coming at you—quite possibly better than you might in the shade of the afternoon.

Of course, this much light does come with the caveat of an external battery pack and power unit, but at just over a pound, the unit won't break your back on a climb. Depending on what your night has in store, the Volt allows you to choose between a range of different modes, so you'll be covered for everything from a 24-hour race to a quick ride after work. Its rechargeable battery takes about five hours to fully come back to life, and the included helmet mount means you'll have the freedom to constantly adjust the beam's location depending on where you need it, rather than being restricted by your handlebars.
