Volo Limited Edition Bib Short

Castelli is always revered for crafting high-end cycling gear with premium materials which often puts it out of the price point of many cyclists range. The Men's Volo Limited Edition Bib Short breaks tradition and applies Castelli's know-how and quality fabrics to create workhorse bib shorts up to the task of putting in the long hours in the saddle with Affinity technical fabrics that elevates aerodynamics, comfort, and support that's welcome on any ride.

Volo means "I'm flying" in Italian and that's just what you'll be doing after you put these bibs on and hop on your bike. These bib shorts prove worthy of the Castelli name by employing its refined construction techniques, all the while coming in at a price within the self-sponsoring racer's budget. The light and airy mesh bib uppers breathe and ventilate with ease and the aerodynamic textured fabric on the front and outside of the thighs help you slice through the wind and forge ahead in the breakaway. On the inner leg, Castelli employs Affinity Lycra for increased support on the muscle groups and a snug fit. Flatlock stitching is utilized throughout helping to prevent friction and chafing on long rides, while the GIRO Air mesh grippers offer a comfortable grip and low bulk at the leg openings.

The much favored Kiss Air chamois helps provide all-day comfort on the bike by using a seamless brushed microfiber for a soft touch against your skin and the flexibility to move with you. It's cut anatomically helping reduce pressure in sensitive zones while supporting you where you need it the most. The dual-density foam tapers in thickness, placing just the right amount of material where it's needed, and omitting it where bulk is not. All-in-all, these bibs would rival most brand's highest-end offerings.

  • A workhorse bib short for training and racing
  • Affinity textured fabric elevates aerodynamics
  • Just enough contouring stretch from Affinity Lycra panels
  • Mesh bib allows your skin to breathe while you ride
  • Wicking fabrics aid moisture transfer to keep cool
  • Avoid chafing with flat-lock stitching throughout
  • Kiss Air chamois is ideal for all-day comfort

Perfect fit and feel

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is my fifth pair of these Castelli bib shorts, all in different colors, and these fit me as perfectly as the other four. Fantastic fit, feel, performance, and look. Highly recommend!

Castelli Volo bibs

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 3XL

Of course the chamis is fabulous, wouldn't expect anything less from Castelli. Fit is great too. Price can't be beat. Competitive Cyclist website, ordering process and speed of delivery only added to the positive experience.

Great bib, wrong color

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I don't have anything negative to say in regards to the bibs themselves, However, this will be my only complaint after years of purchasing with Competitive Cyclist. I ordered the Dark Infinitey Blue and they sent me the Anthracite Red. Simple mistake? No. The website kept displaying the Red when I selected the Infinity Blue, as so Blue was shown in the cart. I called customer service, they ensured I will receive the Dark Infinity Blue, which was great because it would complete my kit. They double checked the item number, great! They did confirm that the wrong image was being displayed on the website and that it would be corrected. I first noticed this issue a long while back, but held off on the purchase. It was not until I spoke to customer service a few months later to finalize things, at which time they assured the correct order. Needless to say, I still received the wrong item (March 2019). I have been gone for several months, but now its now September, and the website is still incorrect. I still have the WRONG ones, immediately emailed customer service representative when I received them, the very one whom I dealt with, and nothing. Great bibs, wrong color, some help, still wrong.

I have had similar experiences recently. The quality control at CC has has been going downhill fast. Order one product. Got another. Then got what I ordered wrong style. Its like nobody is in the warehouse looking what they put in the box.

Castelli Volo bib short

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: L

My girlfriend "treated" me on my birthday, and got me a Castelli kit. I had never worn Castelli before, and never wore bib shorts before, but now it's all I wear. My old kits are now just taking up space. So happy with everything Castelli!

Excellent Castelli quality and fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: large

I have several Castelli bibs and this one has a slightly smaller chamois than some, but it easily covers well where needed!! The fit is good without being constrictive nor having extra material bunching up. I am 5'10" and 170lbs....I bought a large bib as i do with most bibs. I can wear medium, but sometimes a little short and overly tights.

No for wide sit bones/actual biking legs

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

First clothing review I’ve ever written. I weigh 185-190 at 6’2; bought the XL. Have ridden in them 5-10 times. Thigh grip /leg opening has already stretched and standing off bike there’s 1/2 inch space around entire thigh. I’m not huge but ride a 155 specialized power pro. This kiss pad doesn’t cover my sit bones properly. Absolutely not worth the money and won’t last past the summer; maybe they’re meant for a few hot races? Have had a pair of Izumi for two years.....done with Castelli for now.

i just received mine, and brand new, I noticed the same around the leg/thigh opening. I'm wondering if this is defective or the design?

Love these

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: X-Large

Good quality and fit well, as long as you size up. I actually prefer the pad in these the Castelli's higher-end pad.

As usual, very comfy.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is my 2nd pair of Castelli bibs. I have other makes but I find the Castelli bibs very comfortable, especially for longer rides. Oh one comment on the sizing; I knew from the beginning that Castelli seems to size on the smaller end of the scale. I am normally a medium (waist size is 33 or 34) but bought L. They fit perfectly.

Very comfortable on the bike

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is the first Castelli product where I could go either L or XL. The main difference (IMHO) is that the bib length on the XL allows a bit more comfort when walking to the bike. Once on the bike, either works for me. I also bought the Team Sky version of these to save a few $$.

Good bib shorts for warm weather

most of my kits are Castelli and the sizing is random depending on where it's made. These are made in El Salvador and have the most accurate sizing for me. I got the Anthracite Volo Castelli bib shorts and they fit perfectly. I'm 5'6" and 150lbs. They are light and breathable. Looks like for great warm and sunny riding weather. I got a Anthracite jersey to match. Good stuff.

Five ft. 6 and 150 lbs,
And which size did u purchase?

    What size did you get?

    Castelli Volvo bib

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

Great comfortable bib for training and going on a long ride.
