CastelliVelocissimo IV Bib Short - Men's
Item # CST00K6
Velocissimo IV Bib Short
Named after the Italian word for very speedy, it's only fitting that the Castelli Men's Velocissimo IV Bib Short keeps you pedaling swiftly across long distances without scratchy irritation, overheating issues, or chafing slowing you down. Full mesh bibs provide breathable support and stability and raw-cut leg endings remain faithfully in place with vertical silicone grippers that won't pinch your legs like some elastic leg bands.
Castelli uses a new anatomical shape for the patterning of the bib short. The new shape moves the stitching away from sensitive areas that usually succumb to irritation after long hours in the saddle. This way, you can ride all day long without annoying irritation or scratchiness holding you back, especially considering the fantastic KISS Air chamois plushly supporting your undercarriage.
Castelli's KISS Air chamois is comprised of dual-density foam that's lined with a seamless, dimpled microfiber that moves sweat off your skin to reduce discomfort. The chamois tapers from 14 to 4 millimeters in thickness, being thicker in the rear, then tapering off towards the front and sides. What this does is take the pressure off sensitive tissue areas, but without feeling like you're wearing a bulky pad that's prone to restricting your range of motion.
- Move swiftly across long distances without irritation
- Pro Dry Soft fabric is soft, stretchy, and quick-drying
- Anatomical patterning eliminates chafing and irritation
- KISS Air chamois balances plush support with flexibility
- Doppio waistband for extra stretch around the stomach
- Full mesh bibs for upright support without overheating
- Raw cut leg endings with vertical silicone grippers

“There IS a sizing chart you can and should use. If you didn't that's on YOU not Castelli. Those looking at reviews for sizing, MEASURE yourself-DO NOT go on these reviews. Hight and weight have very little to do with one's size thighs, hips, waist as a general rule. Measure and take the largest and go with that measurement. EXPECT snug. Castelli runs EURO size and RACE performance. NOT recreation rider. Plan accordingly and you won't be disappointed.” These are a great pair of bibs for their price point. I’ve had mine for a little over 12 months and used them regularly.

I really love these bibs. Fits like a glove and the kiss chamois sit only in the areas that require padding minimizing that feel of wearing an adult diaper. Now I do agree that the bibs run small but there is a simple solution to that...size up and problem solved.

These are very comfortable for any length ride. Look great as well. Be aware, they ran a size too small for me - normally medium, needed to move to large.

This is my fourth pair of Castelli bibs and these are just as good as the others, and for less cost. The kiss chamois is super comfortable, the leg endings have good grip. And the color side stripe is a nice touch. I've seen a lot of reviews about sizing, but the size is as expected from Castelli. They do run short, but if you know what you're getting, you can size accordingly.

I have bought this bib back in December 2017, rode him once a week! Didnât had any issues with the sizing, itâs comfortable, however the fabric after 2 year is gone, canât wear it outside, only indoor training. Had so much expectation on it, and failed, I have others older bibs that are in better shape than my Castelli.

C'mon people. STOP with the poor ratings. There IS a sizing chart you can and should use. If you didn't that's on YOU not Castelli. Those looking at reviews for sizing, MEASURE yourself-DO NOT go on these reviews. Hight and weight have very little to do with one's size thighs, hips, waist as a general rule. Plan accordingly and you won't be disappointed UPDATE: I’m going with my review and giving an additional star. Both size’s perform exceptionally well. The XL feels the same snugness but the legs are a bit longer. I don’t feel uncomfortable with the shoulder straps because I’m bent over riding my bike. MEASURE YOURSELF AND GO WITH YOUR LARGEST MEASUREMENT SIZE ON THE CHART.

It has been stated by several others, but I felt reiterating the facts was worth my time. I am normally an XL, but after reading other reviews I went with the 2XL. Unfortunately, I was shipped an XL. I tried them on just to see, and was actually shocked at how small they were. I mean, they were about the equivalent of a S to M size, absolutely ridiculous. So, I sent them back, and Competitive Cyclist did a wonderful job of handling the transfer. Now I have a 3XL, and they are a snug fit, but doable. I gave them 3 stars primarily because of the customer service from Competitive Cyclist. The bibs I would give 2 stars.

I'm a medium in all other kit and have bought medium Castelli before. These shorts were at least one, maybe two sizes smaller.

"runs small"... maybe on a baby

I'm 6' 175 and the large had some serious compression in the legs, which might have been tolerable, but I am pretty sure the straps would have torn if I pulled them onto my shoulders. The height was a full 14cm shorter than my other bibs of the same size/brand. This was actually a generous replacement for a different brand with botched stitching, but since I am stuck with the shipping bill on a second defective product, I don't feel the need to pretend as if "just go up 7 sizes" will lead to your satisfaction with this item.

This is a great pair of bibs. I would not pay full price for them but at available deep discounts these are hard to beat. Probably the best chamois for the money too. I don’t think the sizing is any different from other castelli bibs (I own many). The fabric is on a thicker side (so not so good for scorching temps) and not as stretchy as Free Aero for example so they may feel a bit tighter when putting them on. I am 5’9”/145 and medium fits perfect - they disappear on your when you put them on.

I bought the VOLO bib shorts which were a little small, but a higher performance level bib. So I bought these thinking the lower performance level would mean a slightly looser fit (exactly what I wanted), but they are a full size smaller than stated. If you have big hip bones and really slim legs, these may work, but for regularly built men, go a size up.

I typically buy size L Castelli bib shorts and I have a previous version of the Velocissimo bibs in L. So, I just ordered and thought things would be just great. Tried these on and wow, they are small. If you want to buy and know your typical Castelli size, go up one more. Okay, enough on the sizing. The shorts look fine, the straps seem a bit narrow compared to my older version. It may not be bad if you get the right size. I bought the black and like the noir look. Don't see much to complain about in terms of finish. I returned these one and bought a pair of size L Volo's, those fit as expected.

way, way too small

I have worn Velocissimo bibs for the last few years, owning at least a half dozen pair - size large. This one is being returned because the size large is not even close. It must be a child sized bib because its not even close to the previous adult large. This will be the last Castelli bib that I order on-line. I already stopped ordering Castelli jerseys because the sizing is absurdly unpredictable. The last one I returned was an adult large that would have been a snug fit for a 12 year old.

The fabric quality is great as well as the pad. Castelli runs small, but wow these are really small. Suggest 2 sizes up. The straps are short too so definitely upsize.

Good for daily use but sizes small

I really like the build of this bib short, it's solid. Not as light of material, it's on the thin but heavier side. However, it's way to small for me. I'm a medium typically in Castelli made in El Salvador. However, this one made in Morocco is tiny. I can barely get the shoulder straps over my shoulders so it feels uncomfortable. A large would probably work for me for this bibshort. I'm 5'6" and 150lbs. Lean buld, long torso. Too long for this bib short.

I've bought these each of the prior two years and have been very happy with them and I was looking forward to the new model. Castelli usually runs small and I typically go up one size. This year's model I'd have to go up two or three sizes for equivalent fit. Size aside, the quality of the fabric and construction seems much inferior to prior years.

I love these. I had purchased a previous years version and loved them, so I went for more. Couldn't be happier. They are super comfortable and have a great chamois that works wonderfully for my 125 - 200+ mile rides. I did size up on these this season as I tried my normal medium and they were much more snug. The large fit perfectly!
