Description

Velocissimo 4 Bib Knicker

The Castelli Velocissimo 4 Bib Knickers are great for chilly fall and spring rides, or the occasional mild winter day when you want some extra coverage for your knees, but don't quite need a full-length bib tight. Sure, a pair of knee warmers would do the trick, but they're simply not as comfortable as a streamlined pair of knickers since you don't have to worry about the tendency knee warmers have to bunch up and shift positions.

These knickers are built from soft, warm, and stretchy Thermoflex fabric, a staple across Castelli's cold-weather line. Thermoflex's brushed lining keeps the cold out and wicks moisture to keep you dry without irritating your skin. The bibs are made from light, breathable mesh, and the updated KISS Air 2 chamois offers long-mile comfort thanks to an improved shape, higher-density foam, and a softer top fabric. The fit is snug and streamlined, and Castelli recommends them for temperatures ranging from 55 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit, though you could certainly find them useful in a wider range of temperatures depending on how hard you plan to ride that day.

  • No-nonsense bib knickers for added coverage on cooler days
  • Stretchy thermal fabric ensures warmth and freedom of movement
  • Brushed lining is soft against the skin, eliminating irritation
  • Mesh bib straps are breathable and won't interfere with layering
  • Redesigned chamois is more comfortable than previous generations

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

got these to wear in our cooler autumn and mild winter weather. have used Castelli products for years. Bib shorts, knickers, tights. the whole catalog of their products. I believe this will be the last time I buy any kind of bibs from them. I normally would buy an x-large, and they would fit just right. the last two pair of bib knickers I bought were too tight. and no, I haven't gained weight. quite the opposite. I had an accident in July of 2020,and spent two weeks in the hospital, where I lost 20 lbs. and kept it off. Don't know if they are saving money buy making bibs smaller and saving on materials or what, but I won't be buying any more of them. Keenly disappointed.

These are really great bibs. I didn't fully appreciate how nice they are until I ripped them in a crash and bought a cheaper set from a different brand (pearl izumi) to replace them. The Castelli bibs do not slide up your calves, and are a really nice thickness for those in-between weather days where you know that you'll be too cold in shorts or too hot in full-length bibs. Sizing was consistent with other Castelli bibs

Had to order an XL as L was too small for my 34" waist. I normally wear M for Hincapie bottoms and L for Giordana. No reflective strips on the butt or legs. Suspenders are narrow and cut into shoulders.

I have tried many of bibs, knickers and tights and the reason I keep coming back to Castelli because they truly do make the best cycling apparel. Love them!!!

My first ride in these was on a chilly, windy 45-degree day. These make such a nice difference. My only complaint was that at the end of a 3-hour ride, they bunched up a little around my knees. Maybe other knickers would do the same thing - this is the only pair I own. Still, these are a great option on cold days for me. I didn't overheat as the day warmed up either.
