What a great pair of bibs, let me tell you... these check (almost) all the boxes, let me explain. 1 - The chamois is not too bulky but is absolutely great for gravel and road riding, or my personal favorite, under some mountain baggies on the mountain bike! 2 - Plenty of room for snacks, phone, and even if you wanted a light layer! 3 - Need more pockets? These are amazing for the insanely long days on the saddle when your road jersey with three pockets just does not hold everything you need, but there is no way of wearing a pack! My one note to add on FIT: I am a little on the taller side, so these fit a little shorter than I usually prefer on my thigh. (When I want more length on my legs for the road days, I usually go for my Free Aero 4 bibs, but these are usually enough.) These also fit just a little more casually than other Castelli bottoms I have, and really liked how flexible and versatile they are.

Had to write a review for how comfortable and well-fitting these bib shorts are. I've avoided Castelli so many times due to others saying their stuff is too form-fitting, but that's 100% not the case. I'm 5'7, 125 lbs, and have a 29-inch inseam and the Medium is PERFECT. I recently bought Sportful's cargo bib shorts and they are super uncomfortable because the bib straps are too short/tight. These Castelli cargo bib shorts have the best proportions I've experienced in a bib short to-date. Also, the leg pockets have a better design than others because there is a little flap of material that folds over the top (helps prevent anything from slipping out when the going gets rough).

These quickly became my favorite bib shorts. Even though I'm not out gravel riding, these bib shorts have been great for all my road rides. I love the side pockets, they haven't sagged at all and everything I put in has stayed in place. The chamois is really comfortable and has it bit of gel in it, no complaints on my 70 mile rides. My only gripes with this product are with the stitching, after 1 wash I noticed a couple loose strands which I never experienced with other brands. I would have thought that at this price point they would put more care into the stitching. So far it's just a cosmetic issue, but I was bit disappointed.
