No sacrifices.

You're loathe to abandon your Perfetto jersey as fall winds down, and we understand why. The Perfetto's clean silhouette and incredible ability to shield you from inclement weather while preserving the same freedom of movement as your favorite warm-weather jerseys is enough to make us yearn for cool weather just so we can wear it again. We can't stop winter's imminent arrival, but we can deliver the news that Castelli created a winter cycling jacket modeled after the Perfetto to see you through the colder months. Sharing the same streamlined silhouette and weather resistance as the Perfetto, the Men's Senza 2 Jacket comes equipped with a warmer construction to take you comfortably through the cooler winter months.

The main difference between the Senza and the Perfetto, as we mentioned, is in fabric construction. Gore Windstopper X-Fast fabric anchors the Senza 2, providing resistance to wind, snow, and rain while you're out on the roads, as well as jacket-level warmth when the temperature drops. We'd compare it to a softshell, but that would suggest less freedom of movement than the jacket actually has. Breathable Thermoflex panels at the sides give the Senza 2 its stretchy, adaptable shape, ready to follow you as you change positions in the saddle. Wheel and road spray are kept at bay by the long, extended back hem, while reflective accents throughout the jacket help you stand out to motorists on dim winter days.

  • Trade your Perfetto for the Senza 2 in time for winter
  • Water- and wind-resistant fabric ideal for cold weather
  • Form-fitting silhouette closely matches the body's contours
  • Extended rear hem protects against wheel spray
  • Three rear pockets provide space for ride fuel
  • Reflective accents enhance visibility to motorists
  • Recommended for temperatures approaching freezing

Jersey Jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

I was looking for the heaviest Jacket that was like a Jersey, i.e. has 3 rear pockets, no extra stuff. This fits the bill. If you are wondering, it has a pretty good layer of fleece inside, and it is much heavier than the Castelli Perfetto Convertible Jacket. I gave 3 stars because there isn't anything special about the jacket regarding fit or finish or design. I got it on sale 45% off, I definitely wouldn't pay $240 for it. But $150-200 is fair for this piece and the quality seems Castelli. I also like the rubber-ized emblem on the front as opposed to the sublimated or whatever they are that eventually dry, crack, and fall off. Fits Small, I got a Large to fit a long sleeve base layer and it will be tight.

I like it like that

Does its job and keeps warm. Little tight on the dad bod.

Perfect for early winter mornings

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I've been looking for a backup to my Nalini winter team jacket that is close to 10 years old. Of course it can't be found anywhere anymore. But this Castelli version has the same qualities. Comfortable fit, just enough to get a thin base layer under, just enough stretch in the arms without being baggy, and great wind and dampness protection. And most of all it is toasty warm on dark winter mornings. Stoked.

I've used this jacket several times, and it keeps me warm under extreme conditions. The Castelli site says 32-50 degrees, but I've warn it at 16 degrees with a Flanders Warm Base Layer and was very comfortable. This is my go to when the temp is down and I want to get a ride in. For fit I went one size up like I do for all Castelli products and it works for me. In my opinion this is a great value if you want to ride in the cold. The only negative is the pockets seem a little small.

This jacket has an excellent athletic fit and of course excellent fabric. There are panels of slightly thinner fabric just behind the upper arms for heat venting when you warm up (but not so thin as to make you cold initially). It has sparse reflective elements, though it also has a white stripe on the forearms to increase visibility (or style,...or both). Nice large zipper (right hand--Castelli likes to mix and match--I wish they were all right hand), and a nice tall collar that's not too tight nor too loose--also the cuffs are of a nice size. The pockets could be a bit larger, though they are placed low enough to be functional.

Kept me warm in low 30 degree temps!

Quality made jacket that is comfortable on a long cold ride.
Used with base layer and jersey.

A warm winter jacket with a great fit.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Bought it to use for under 40 degree weather. I've used it down to a windy 25F with two base layers and it kept me warm. Also wore it under a light drizzle in the high 30s and stayed dry. Mixed feelings about the Thermoflex panels... They definitely work to prevent overheating when the temps rise closer to 40 or above but on a windy day closer to freezing and below you definitely feel cold air entering the jacket. So on the balance for my usage I wish it was 100% Windstopper.

Medium fits me perfectly -- tight but allowing multiple/different thickness base layers.

A warm winter jacket with a great fit.

Great jacket

Awesome jacket. Keeps you warm but does not make you hot if it makes sense lol. Keeps body heat in. Have worn in single degrees weather. Just have to layer up. Awesone jacket!

Warm Jacket for cold day

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

Great for temps below 40 degrees F. Kept me very warm on cold winter days. Fits tight so may want to go one size larger.
