When you roll up to the registration table just as an unexpected storm front unleashes swirling gusts of frigid air, you'll be happy you brought along your Castelli Men's Long-Sleeve Prosecco Wind Baselayer. Made from Castelli's breathable, medium weight Prosecco fabric, this base layer provides much appreciated warmth and wicks sweat out and away to keep you dry and warm as you settle into a rhythm 250m off the start line.
As good as the fabric is, the star feature of this baselayer is its Gore Windstopper windproof membrane on the front panel. Windstopper means it'll do its job no matter the conditions, so you'll be riding comfy when the wind whips up and the rest of the field is chilled to the bone.
- A cycling baselayer for inclement conditions
- Windproof front panel blocks the elements
- Streamlined fit hides stealthily under a jersey
- Medium weight fabric provides warmth

is windstopper membrane just on front panel or is it also on arms/shoulder?

Too small

Returned. Runs small even by Castelli standards, especially under the arms. It was tighter than the two other Castelli base layers i have in the same size.

My arms are pretty normal in size, I think, but the sleeves on this base layer are very short. I compared it to the non-"Wind" version of this item: lined up the seams under the arms and there is well over an inch in difference. Looks like a mistake by Castelli. (Attached pic exaggerates difference because of angle.) Brr, cold wrists. Returning it.

works in a wide range of temperatures

5'7" , 170 lb large fits well, snug without being too tight. Arms are fine for me and not overly long. I would like it better if it was longer in the body with more of a drop tail. The jersey breathes really well so there was only a reasonable buildup in the front under the windproof layer. A very good base large as you would expect. Depending on how you layer it is very versatile.

When I initially got it I thought I made a mistake due to it being so thin. Then I tried it out in 0 Celsius with my Castelli Thermo Suit and it definitely kept me warm.

Hey Meredith, The Gore Windstopper Windproof Membrane Panel is only on the front chest. Not the arms/shoulders. Thanks for the question! Jean
