Description

Smart layers.

While we might be tempted to kit up with the thickest baselayer we own for dreary winter training sessions, we're often better served opting for something a bit more breathable like Castelli's Men's Prosecco Long-Sleeve Baselayer to maintain consistent warmth. Fashioned from Castelli's dual-layer Prosecco fabric, this baselayer hastens moisture away from your body for quick evaporation so you stay comfortable and dry through intense intervals, the recovery between, and the subsequent exhausted slog to take up your seat at the local café.

  • A mid-weight baselayer with wicking prowess
  • Hydrophilic treatment pushes moisture away
  • Streamlined fit sits comfortably under winter outer layers

What is the difference between the “ prosecco” and the
“prosecco R“ ?

Hey Sean - The R is the newer model year version of the Prosecco – same mid weight material and some minor updates to the neck and sleeves.

Very LIGHT Weight!

Too light weight as a single layer under a jacket - you will need more layers if riding in 35-45F temps! Runs very small, XL provides my frame a snug, not tight fit! Great Castelli quality!

Great for a cold day

This one is a great layer for cold days. It runs a little bit small , so I would probably buy one size up next time. The quality is great , I think I'll keep getting more Castelli:)

Amazingly soft and effective.

Got this for my long sleeved jerseys. The fabric is literally as soft as silk. I'm amazed at how far polyester has gone these days, cause it's literally the softest piece of apparel I own.

Wore this in the rain and my core stayed nearly dry with hard efforts. The ends of the sleeves stayed wet from water seeping in, however. Kept me warm down to 40 degrees rain regardless. This layer on its own doesn't insulate like a thermal base layer would, though, so keep that in mind.

If you know your usual Castelli size, stick with it.

What else were you wearing for a top while in the rain? Curious if this would be OK for 55 degrees / rainy with just a jersey over the top.
