Description

Prologo VI Jersey

The Prologo VI Jersey from Castelli combines its classic design with technical innovation to create a breathable, quick-drying jersey with a fit that will leave you inspired to ride. For the Prologo VI, Castelli used its new light and breathable Punto fabric that's remarkably soft yet stretchy and features bioceramic nanoparticles added to the fused polymer, which reflect infrared light to protect you from the sun and help keep your body warm when needed. The jersey possesses good horizontal stretch for a great fit, with limited vertical stretch to support the pockets.

To further improve breathability, the Prologo has a full-length, covered YKK Camlock zipper so you can dump heat on the fly. The Prologo also hauls all of your riding essentials with its three rear pockets right above its drop tail with internal silicone waist gripper to keep the jersey in place. Lastly, reflective piping keeps you more visible if the sun hasn't risen yet or already called it a day.

  • Punto fabric is lightweight and breathable
  • Castelli shadow logo sublimation overprint on a dyed base fabric
  • Drop tail with internal silicone waist elastic holds the fit
  • Reflective piping keeps you more visible
  • Full-length, covered YKK Vislon zipper
  • Three rear pockets haul ride essentials
  • Horizontal stretch provides the fit, limited vertical stretch supports pockets

    Very Good Jersey

I am a big fan of this jersey, and own it in several colors. Some I purchased for myself, others were gifts that I requested to round out a few different color kits in total. The fit is snug, but not a race fit. I can feel a little bit of fabric catching wind when I am going in excess of 25 mph, and it is more pronounced when going 35 mph+ downhill. That said, it is quite minimal, and this is definitely not a baggy jersey by any means. The sleeve cuffs are particularly impressive to me, and stay in place better than most other jerseys that I own. The material is very thin, and I hope it does not wear out over time, but I’ve worn each jersey for a few hundred miles worth of rides and so far, so good. The zipper guard at the top does look a little funny in that the tab comes above the zipper without being a proper ‘zipper garage’ but it does a good job of avoiding any chafing along your neck. Pockets are deep enough to hold contents without fear of them popping out, and the silicone gripper does an adequate job of keeping the jersey in place. My only real criticisms are that the jersey does have a bit more vertical stretch than I would optimally like, and depending on the color it will really show your sweat...like very blatantly. Other than those two minor items, it is hard to go wrong for the price, and these are definitely the favorite jersey I have in the rotation at the moment. Great value for the price in my opinion. Keep in mind that these are typical for Castelli sizing, meaning small...but if you follow the size chart you’ll be just fine.

Having had a couple Prologo V jerseys for a couple seasons - which became favorites - I decided to get the Prologo VI when I was in need of some more options. It is definitely updated in materials and fit from the V which was more of an old school affair that straddled the line between loose and tight fit, with sleeves just below the shoulder. The VI has the en vogue longer (almost to the elbow) aero sleeves and various materials used in the front and back panels to balance temperature management. In the end it is a little warmer I feel than the Prologo V, and feels a little heavier. It is still a great jersey and the design is pleasing but I feel on a hot day in the hills or mountains I would still reach for the V.

Everything about this jersey in terms of quality is top notch. Just be aware that they run super small. If you have broad shoulders and a bigger chest you may find that you need to go up two sizes. Went with the XL and it’s still a little tight around the arms and shoulders. Definitely a good looking piece of kit though.

Recently purchased this jersey and really enjoy it. Best part i the fit. On the days when I go for most of the day and don't want one of my race fit jerseys, this is the perfect option. As noted, this is not the normal super small Castelli fit. Sizing is really true to size. Medium fits perfect, while i usually go L or XL on Castelli.

Will I ever find a Castelli that fits?

I really like the fabric of this jersey...very soft and feels great to wear. The pockets are huge compared to other brands. The sleeves are long and without a hem...exactly how I like them. Castelli sizing is a mystery to me. I've had size L jerseys in the past that fit so snug they border on constricting. For this order, I measured and re-measured my chest. Then I had my wife measure my chest. Each time, it measured somewhere between 41-42". Given my past experience, I was tempted to order an XXL but settled on XL. When it arrived and I tried it on, I surprised at how loose it felt. I wore it around the house for a bit, to make sure I didn't think it was too large, but eventually convinced myself it was right and wore it for a ride. Halfway through I knew I had made a mistake. The big pockets swallowed up my wind jacket and assorted other bits, but hung so low I could feel it bouncing against my butt when I stood to crank up a hill. By the time I got home I realized it was too big, and now it couldn't be returned. Oh well, it'll be fine for short rides when I don't need to fill the pockets and don't mind the extra folds of fabric.

    Enjoying this jersey

I’ve worn Castelli Gabba jerseys and Nanoflex arm warmers for several years and always liked the fit (I’m 6’-3”/180lb), so thought I’d try two Prologo VI’s. While still pretty new, they’re my current favorites: + bright, non-camouflaged, & non-neon colors + great arm length, “just right” cuff compression + long enough torso that still fits snug + seems well put together with nice detailing + zipper is chunky, but super easy to grab & adjust. + fabric is a good weight for Pacific NW morning rides in temps from low 50’s (F) to high 60’s. Have not used in real heat, so no input there. Note: sizing for me was different than my other Castelli jerseys (which always run small) so had to exchange down from usual XXL. The XL is just right, so my “Runs Large” tag is relative to other Castelli jerseys.

I have a size L Prologo V jersey that fits perfect - the Prologo VI looks from the images like a different cut. Anyone have both and can tell if they are a different fit?

Castelli gear runs small - I'm 6'2" 170 and wear an XL. I have two of these jerseys - they look great and I like the material over other types that Castelli offers. Not the lightest, but still great in the heat here in South FL. I've used them/washed them a ton and they are holding up nicely.

This is my new favorite shirt. If I could wear it as a shirt and not a jersey that is... The fabric is so light and the fit is wonderful. Superman wears this jersey under his super hero clothes. As far as fit goes, it is pretty true to size chart recommendations. I'm 6'3" tall and have a 100 cm chest, ordered an XL. Fits looser, and short, but too minuscule to complain, still feels great riding in.
