CastelliPerfetto RoS Vest - Men's
Item # CST00TK
Perfetto RoS Vest
A primed engine pushes through the most miles, and optimizes energy and fuel for total efficiency climbing up mountain passes, and soaring across wind-swept straightaways. In cycling, our core resembles an engine, and our finely-tuned machine will only truly show us what its capable of if that engine is taken care of. On cooler morning starts, we suggest that the best way to do this is with the Castelli Perfetto RoS Vest. The Perfetto RoS takes the fit and form of the coveted Perfetto Vest and brings it further into the future with elevated fabrics that provide more protection than its previous iteration, thanks to GORE's latest and greatest textiles at the front, and Castelli's fan-favorite Nano Flex Light.
The Perfetto RoS differs from the standard Perfetto in its front panels that are built from Gore's Infinium 203 Stretch lightweight fabric, as opposed to the Windstopper X-Lite previously used. The new Infinium 203 provides more stretch than Windstopper could provide, while still maintaining windproof protection, and minimal weight, enabling you to cut through icy winds, while still allowing skin to breathe and drop heat when you're pushing yourself up major elevations and steep pitches.
We appreciate the saying "if it ain't broke', don't fix it," and even more so, we're thankful that Castelli stuck with a good thing by keeping its Nano Flex Light fabric at the back panel. Nano Flex Light is a flexible, thermally insulating material that's been coated with countless nanofilaments in order to add water-resistance. It gives flex across your shoulders and ventilates better than the vest's front, helping to regulate your body temperature for rides where the full Perfetto would be too warm and addressing a wider range of conditions with additional layering versatility.
Like the previous Perfetto, the Perfetto RoS Vest is packable, so you can use it for chilly descents without overheating on the climb. Castelli recommends it in temperatures ranging from 57 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit, but the layering possibilities are only limited by our daydream imaginations, so this number can drop easily into the 30s. (And no, we're not embarrassed to admit that we waste time at our desks daydreaming about layering. Well, not that embarrassed.) The full-length YKK Vislon zip boasts a wind guard across the entirety of its span, and the tall collar extends the Infinium 203 to cover your neck. Reflective elements at the sleeve holes and hem help keep you visible in low-light conditions.
- Soar through cool rides with a vest to keep your engine going
- Windproof front cuts through icy gales and gusts
- Breathable and extra-stretchy textiles flex with you
- Slim fit with abbreviated chest create ideal cycling cut
- Deep back pockets with pump sleeve keep tools and snacks secure
- YKK Vislon zipper seals out cold, allows for easy ventilation
- Gabba-style drop tail with reflective panel helps you stay seen in low lighting

Great vest but runs extremely tight. I bought 3XL and even that was way too tight. I usually wear XL or sometimes XXL depending on the brand.

Size XL in all my Castelli jerseys so I tried this in XL also. Fit is snug and perfect over the top of a Castelli jersey. Wore this when temp started around 45 degrees up to 60 degrees. Entire ride was perfect, didn't end up unzipping or taking it off during the ride. I will plan on using this instead of my Alpha ROS 2 jacket if the temp gets over 50 during the ride.

This was a perfect choice for riding in San Diego for a late morning to mid day even during the over cast/windy or chilly days. I can arrange warmth by the different base layer. I also tried Castelli Alpha RoS 2 Light Jacket, but unless I ride at dawn all the time, the jacket will be a little too much (still very well designed jacket and sizing is the same). SIZING: Usual CASTELLI size Many reviews mention that it runs small; however, in my case, size Medium was perfect. I usually wear size medium on Castelli products. Just to make sure, I even ordered size Small to try and I can even wear small as well if I wanted it be snug. For a reference, I am on a small side: Suit Size 36S or 38S, (depending on a fit), pants size 30, dress shirt 15.5/31-32, shirt/t-shirt size small or medium (mostly small) and almost all European size in 46.

Beautifully made product. However, the sizing is way way off. I am 5’11” under 150lbs and ended up with an xl which still fits snuggly. So, I suggest going 2 sizes above your usual size. Return to CC of the L was easy. No issues and free returns.

Bought XL (see previous review) and returned for an XXL. Snug fit, but when riding in the cooling fall days, I don't notice the vest. I use it over the jersey, and the vest keeps me snug and warm on my road bike rides into the hills. Still, be aware that it sizes small.

My best vest - the material is the key with this vest. I have several other top quality vests, but this is the winner hands down. It blocks the wind and light precipitation. When unzipped it doesn't flap in the wind! The material is curved to the body to prevent the flapping.

This vest is excellent. It's warm and windproof but breathes well so you don't overheat. It's water-resistant and did a great job keeping my core warm and dry on a recent ride with a constant drizzle and lots of roadspray. It's incredibly lightweight and rolls up small so you can stow it easily. It is snug and close-fitting, so I'd say it runs slightly small. My experience is limited of course, but I'd order whatever size you would order if you were buying a form-fitting jersey. The one sizing thing that isn't quite perfect is the height. It's shorter than most of my jerseys, so my jersey sticks out, especially if I've got stuff in my jersey pockets. That's surprising especially when wearing a Castelli jersey (you'd think they'd be sized the same way), but on the other hand, I've only worn the vest with club-fit jerseys so maybe it's not an issue with form-fitting. I also am proportionally taller in my torso than some folks my height, so it could just be me. In any event, this is a pretty minor issue; it's aesthetic not functional. All the way around I love Castelli's Rossa Corsa products and this vest doesn't disappoint.

I like the Goretex and the light weight. Bought the XL, based on my chest and waist measurement, and had to return for the 2XL, which is still snug. (I have an American football player's build -- 218 pounds and 6 feet tall). Great quality but runs real small. The return and exchange worked great and was prompt.

This vest is top-notch! I was in between buying this and another perfetto, and I’m glad I got this. Very versatile piece and I can take it in slightly warmer temperatures than I do my perfetto light short sleeve.
