Perfetto RoS Light Jersey

Transition seasons pose some problems when donning your cycling kit, and while we won't claim Castelli's Perfetto RoS Light Jersey will solve all of them, we're confident that its versatility can make quite a few blustery days a bit easier. At first glance you might think Castelli's simply re-branded the Gabba as the Perfetto, and we wouldn't blame you for making that connection, it offers a remarkably similar cut, with contoured panels that provide a tailored fit when you're in your cycling position — however it sets itself apart by scaling in as Castelli's lightest short-sleeve jersey with wind protection, so you don't have to compromise gram-savings for coverage.

Like the Perfetto before it, the new RoS Light is streamlined and minimalist, however it employs all new fabrics this year, including GORE-TEX's new Infinium 203 Stretch fabric on the front and sleeves, which provides lightweight next-level wind protection, partnered up with a durable water repellent treatment that sheds showers on unpredictable spring and fall jaunts. On the back you'll find the familiar Nano Flex Light Woven fabric that offers enhanced breathability where you need it, preventing overheating when you're exerting yourself on major efforts, and quickly drying to avoid chills when you've made it to the top and cool gusts greet you on your winding descent.

With the Castelli name attached to the Perfetto RoS, it's no surprise that fit is a priority. The jersey contours to your core strategically, and utilizes slightly less fabric in the chest to keep wrinkles and bulges to a minimum when you're in the drops, or hammering through hill sprints. In the back you'll find an extended drop-tail hem that resembles the Gabba jersey, and packs in a pixelated reflective panel that increases your visibility when the lighting gets dim. Finally, the jersey is finished off with two deep rear pockets, and a pump sleeve to keep your essentials organized and close at hand.

Great design with a general exception

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have one that I've worn once. I like the wind blocking, the materials, ROS ability and that it loosens when you bend over to touch the bars. I believe a lot of thought went into the product. What made the jersey a non-starter is the rear pocket height is absurd. Do you really want to spend lots of time trying to reach that gel with one hand on the bars in a fast moving pace line? Or even riding on your local bike trail. Castelli used up the real estate to put a four inch lower back flap to advertise their name in big letters, forcing the pockets way up the back. Look at the front and you will see it up at the belt line which looks really sharp and uses less material. That is your indicator to not buy that jersey when looks override functionality. I think that awkward pocket height adds significant risk in the right situations.

Sizing feels all wrong

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:
XL
Height:
6' 1"
Weight:
176

I'm 6'1" 176lbs ordered an XL. It felt way too tight in the chest, came up short but the bottom was very loose, the silicon gripper couldnt even make contact with my body. Going to return it and look for something else. Looks cool though and goretex is clutch for the rain... but IDK why you would just wear a short sleeve in the rain >7<° B

great cool weather jerseys

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I've got two of these Perfetto Light jerseys and they're my go-to for road and gravel rides, for weather between 45-65 degrees, especially if rain might be in the forecast. The material can feel a bit clammy at first, but does a great job of keeping you warm and dry in cooler weather. I bought the orange color to be more visible on the road and it is an amazingly bright and visible "safety" orange that photos can't quite show.
