Toasty gams.

It sometimes takes a bit of self-encouragement to get out the door and start a ride in the drizzle, so the last thing you need is a pair of leg warmers soaking up the rain and making you colder or slipping down to expose bare skin. Kit up in a pair of Castelli's Nano Flex+ Leg Warmers to stay warm, dry, and motivated through those chilly, dreary miles.

Nano Flex starts its life the warm, stretchy Thermoflex fabric used in many of Castelli's winter pieces. It then gains an outer coating of tiny nanofilaments of silicone fiber that create a water-repellent barrier so raindrops and road spray dead up and run off without soaking through. Despite its water-resistant finish, Nano Flex fabric remains highly breathable, keeping you comfortable even when rain falls in the low 60s.

Across the back, Castelli utilizes a panel of its lighter Nano Light fabric to increase stretchiness behind your knee for full freedom of motion without reducing protection from the elements. In our experience, the previous generation of Nano Flex warmers do bunch slightly behind the knee. This isn't necessarily a ride-ending calamity, but the addition of Nano Light reduces that effect for more pleasant spinning in damp weather.

Silicone grippers on both faces of the thigh hem and the inner face of the ankle hem keep the warmers in place to ensure there isn't a gap in coverage.

  • Full coverage, water-resistant warmth for cycling
  • Nanofilament treatment compels water to bead and roll off
  • Soft, brushed lining protects against the chill
  • Silicone grip holds hems in place
  • Zippered ankle for easy on and off

Great Warmers

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

The soft fleece backing increases comfort while adding some warmth. No issues with bunching and the silicone grippers keep them in place. The DWR coating is a nice touch as well for riding in light rain.

Castelli Does It Again

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These are by far my favorite leg warmers I have ever owned.

They have a fleece lining that really keeps you warm. I bought these for the water repellent qualities. They aren't waterproof but they keep you dry from the road spray! Overall, you can't go wrong with these.

A Warmer Warmer Option

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Arm and Leg warmers are great, you can peel them off mid ride and they don't take up a ton of space. Castelli's warmers are on the warmer side of the warmers I have owned in the past, and a huge benefit is they will shed water too. Not water proof, but they hold their own just fine, these have been my go-to option for cool morning rides I love them, and the fit and quality is solid.

The best warmers ever.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XL

I dunno what to say. It's water repellent, it's warm, it dries fast, and it fits amazingly well. I rode straight through heavy rains with this, and for the first few hours, rain just bounces off. Water eventually got through, and yet I stayed warm the entire ride. Kinda like a wetsuit, actually.

The thing with water repellency is that, even though you'll still end up getting wet, it still shrugs off a lot of rain as water eventually gets in. A lot of COLD rain.

Their sizing chart makes no damn sense; I just got my shorts size (XL) and it works fine. So just do that.

My only gripe is that the Castelli lettering isn't reflective, which would be a nice safety feature during darker days. It's white rubber text glued on which I hope doesn't peel off down the road.
