Description

Italia 20 Bib Short

As cyclists, we're big fans of our heritage, and Castelli's Italia 20 Bib Shorts offer just the right amount of throw-back aesthetics to pique our interest, while keeping modern performance a priority. If you're a fan of Castelli's line up you may spot a cut similar to the Endurance 2 Bibshort, and you would be spot on with that observation. The Italia 20 features not only the same cut, but the same fabrics are the Endurance 2, but with unique aesthetics designed to stand out in the peloton.

Castelli combines its much-lauded Progetto X2 Air Seamless chamois for all-day riding comfort with the amazingly luxuriously Giro3 lie flat leg gripper at the openings keeping the hem locked in place. It's constructed of its Endurance Evolution fabric that sits softly against the skin while supporting the muscles with optimal compression that’s further complemented with textured compression side panels. It also helps keep you cooler and drier thanks to its excellent wicking properties and superior moisture management. This bib is always up to the task of providing riding comfort on you hardest and longest training rides.

Castelli updates the bib strap construction with mesh back and straps that's designed to keep you cool on those extended summer climbs. Its embossed Castelli wordmark adds a touch on elegance and is well recognized among discerning cyclists.

  • Castelli's Endurance bib shorts meet classic aesthetics
  • Endurange Evolution fabric provides support and breathability
  • Italia embossed side panels elevate the look for timeless feel
  • Mesh bib strap has been updated for comfort and ventillation
  • Cushion your posterior with Progetto X2 Air seamless chamois
  • Hems stay locked in place thanks to GIRO3 leg grippers

Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hip:

Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

First Bib Short

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit:
Runs small

On my second ride with these bibs, I wrecked on a slippery wooden walkway, and skidded across the planks on my right thigh. Although my leg has a good burn, the shorts themselves stayed intact, and looked only slightly stressed. The shoulder straps are a bit snug but are tolerable, and one must wear a base layer to prevent nipple chafing. The chamois has ample cushioning, doesn’t bunch up, and does not hinder blood flow. I don’t presently have any issue with stitches but time will tell. These bibs are my first set of bibs, first Castelli purchase too. Based only on initial impressions, I’d buy Castelli again but may stick to shorts only.

My waist is 34/35 range. I know the specs say large is 34 and this bib is true to size. Most often Castelli Runs small. Should I order XL ???

Hey Patrick, great question, thanks for asking! Castelli items can be a bit snug with their compression, so we usually recommend sizing up, but you can always try out two sizes and return the ones that do not work out.

Despite my better intentions, I keep trying to give Castelli a go. Although these bibs exhibit a great look and fit, after only three rides/uses I now have two fraying seams and a peeling brand logo on my backside. They simply don't match up to the quality produced by other brands at this price point.

I purchased these as well. They fit and perform great. Unfortunately the stitching along the left shoulder strap came undone. Where the stitching was also connecting the material down low, at lower ribs, came completely undone. No tears, just not stitched well.
