If you've even considered buying one, just get it now. Mine arrived earlier this week and today was a perfect first ride and test. I wore the Gabba with the Castelli Prosecco R short sleeve base layer and some arm warmers. Started my ride in overcast conditions at 52F/11C with rain in the forecast. For the first 45 minutes I stayed clear of any precipitation and climbed gently out of town. The Gabba kept me plenty warm but never overheating. Just before I got into the canyon and the real climbing started the rain came down and temperatures dropped to 48F/8C. During the remaining 2 hours of riding it rained continually (and occasionally quite hard). It tossed down some lightening and thunder just for good measure. Through it all, the jersey kept me absolutely dry. My feet and hands were soaked, water poured through my helmet, but my core stayed perfect. For the sake of science, I added a set of intervals to really test the Gabba and I never felt overheated or overdressed given the conditions. When I got home my socks and gloves needed to be wrung out in the garage, but my base layer was as dry as you'd expect after a ride (i.e. sweaty in spots, but absolutely no signs of water at shoulders, neck, sleeves, or waist). The two pockets were more than adequate for my usual extras (banana, phone, tube, pump, corona mask). The fit was pretty standard Castelli. The very helpful gearhead I ordered from (sorry I can't remember who) recommended I size up to a large and it fits very well. Not quite race fit, but snug enough. For reference, I'm definitely built more like a climber than a cyclist and most jerseys are very tight across my shoulders/chest. As a piece of foul weather gear, the Gabba is hands down a new favorite. Without arm warmers and/or a lighter base layer I think it could be used into the mid-50's pretty comfortably, and could also be a go-to jersey well into the 30's with proper layering.
