Free speed, good looks.

Castelli once again complements its Free Aero jerseys with a pair of matching bib shorts displaying the classic, clean aesthetics that have long defined the brand. Devoid of clashing sponsor logos and bright graphics, the Free Aero Race Kit Version Bib Shorts feature the full range of Castelli's achievements in fabric technology, ready to stand out on dozens of start lines with impeccable fit and clean, aerodynamic design.

To put it simply, if you're going to be racing in your Castelli duds, the Free Aero is the kit you'll want. Every feature of the short was designed with racing in mind, from the dimpled, wind-cheating Vortex fabric on the outer thighs to the minimal Carré-engineered bib straps. That being said, Castelli has never neglected comfort in favor of race-day performance. On the Free Aero's inner thighs, stabilizing Forza fabric, which contains 38% Lycra, promises hours of breathable support to your muscles, while the Free Aero's wide, supportive Doppio V waistband holds everything in place as you stretch out over the bars to make a move off the front.

  • Never question your racing kit again with this bib short
  • Form-fitting, contoured cut for the least amount of drag
  • Dimpled Vortex fabric aims to further reduce wind drag
  • Supportive Forza fabric breathes well and stabilizes muscles
  • Supple Giro Air leg grippers hold each hem in place
  • Plush Progetto X2 Air chamois provides smooth support
  • Clean, minimal bib straps lie flat and stay in place

Best Race (and all-around) bib

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is the only bib I have where I get absolutely no chafing or discomfort. The ultra thin fabric may not be the most durable, but so far so good.

Awesome bib.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: large

Went for a 91 mile ride last weekend with 4,500 feet of climbing. I loved the bib as much when I took it off as when I put it on.

Wide comfy chamois, light & cool fabric

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Like most Castelli, you gotta order up a size, like I did. The chamois on this is wide and good for my broad sit bones. I use these for summer and indoor training. Concerns: the legs have a rubberized grip that leaves a light red rash that is mildly itchy but goes away after a day. The rear stitching has lost a thread but it hasn't affected the usability (yet). The chamois is everything, in my case.

Fits very small

  • Fit: Runs small

Careful in ordering process -- if you need to return, they charge you. I would have no issue with this if the fit was standard. Oh, and if I hadn't spent $350!

Great Comfortable Bib

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

Probably the best chamois I've experienced and after only several long rides, it's hard to overstate how comfortable these are. Following my recent Century ride I couldn't believe how good I felt as compared to other, less substantive chamois bibs I've ridden. Expensive, but worth it!

These bib shorts fit perfectly, very comfortable with a great chamois. I prefer using them for my longer rides. I can ride all day in the bibs!

Love these shorts! They are a classic Italian fit with a great chamois that makes 60-100 miles rides really comfortable.
