Not your average entry-level shorts.

Castelli's "entry level" is on par with most companies' "mid-range", so the Evoluzione Women's Shorts might well deliver more quality than you're paying for. They're flattering and supportive, courtesy of Castelli's ProDry 2Strati two-layer fabric, and also work to move moisture efficiently from your skin to the outer layer of the short to speed evaporation and cooling. Double-needle stitching boosts durability in all the key areas, and molded silicone leg grippers give the Evoluzione a snug, pinch-free hem that won't ride up or irritate your skin.

The finishing touch is the Kiss Air Donna chamois, which features a soft microfiber covering to serve up serious next-to-skin comfort. The Donna's seamless design prevents chafing and irritation, and its flexible nature moves with you, so you don't have to stand up in the saddle and readjust when you're on the move.

my fav shorts

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

i love these... im newer to cycling but finally i have found shorts that keep me on the saddle for longer than 30 mins. to me once i hit the 40 min mark is my true test on bibs/shorts and i can stay on the bike for a long time with these. they hold you nice and tight. very comfy i highly recommend

Buying a second one!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought these as part of my first set of cycling gear, when I first got into it. I have since ridden a few thousand miles and these shorts are still my go-to favorite pair! The chamois is comfortable, even on longer 40+ mile rides, you hardly know it's there! Washes and wears well, and they don't stretch with washing. Leg grippers are comfortable and don't bunch up or pinch. When first reading the reviews, I decided to size up one size; the medium fits me perfectly. I'm 5'3" and weigh 120lbs. Ordered a second pair over the Black Friday weekend!

Comfy chamois, questionable durability

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Small

Great chamois - comfy but not excessively bulky. The waist band stays flat and doesn't roll, and I don't notice it at all during rides. Leg grips stay flat and smooth, no sausage effect. Overall a great pair of shorts when I first got them...

Unfortunately after just a handful of washes (cool water, air dry), the material has gone nearly-transparent, some stitching is pulling around the chamois, and the leg openings are fraying quite badly.

New favorite shorts

Got these for easier pit stops on long rides without bathrooms. They're the best unbibs I've worn, and Castelli finally got the leg grippers right. No awkward band with severe line of demarcation digging in. As usual, they got the chamois right. No pointless contouring, just a flat, comfortable pad. Thinner than some other Castelli chamois pads but these aren't top of the line racing shorts, and are perfect for my use. Perfect fit and length.

My best cycling shorts

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

These are the best cycling shorts I've found to date. I bought two pairs, however, this is the first time I've ever had to buy a medium in any brand of cycling shorts. Every other pair of cycling shorts I've ever had were size small. One pair I've had for a year now, and have worn them once a week for longer rides, and they are holding up great, even with machine washing.

Great cycling shorts

I admit it's been a while since I had to look for new cycling shorts. I tried the Gore Oxygen+ short, size M, hoping after reading the reviews that short was geared for those who did longer rides. I was totally disappointed with that short. The chamois was horrible, and the overall short not good. I next tried the Castelli Free Areo shorts, size M. While the chamois was good, I did not like the overall look or feel of the shorts once I tried them on. Back they went. I then tried the Castelli Velocissima short, size M. Again, I didn't like the look or feel of the short when I tried them on. The last short I tried, the Evoluzione, size M, I really liked the look, and feel of the short. There is not a whole lot of compression in this short, just the right amount to not make them uncomfortable, and the chamois is really great. I rode 2 days in a row with these shorts, one longer ride (about 30 miles) and another 25 miles second day, and the shorts really held up good, I didn't feel like the chamois destroyed me and gave me pain. Really comfortable short overall. I am very happy to have found these shorts. While the size M is a bit big in the waist for me, they fit really well in my hips. My hips are 35.5, and my waist is 25.

These are super comfortable shorts and are great for long rides. I also found that waistband on these is more comfotable than other bike shorts I've owned. They do run a bit small, but that's not unusual for most bike clothes

great bike shorts

feed back on these shorts. I love these bike shorts. They are great for long rides. They do run a little small.

Best bike shorts!

I bought these for my wife and she says these are the best bike shorts shes owned. Great shammy, great fit, and it'll make your ass 3 times smaller. Just kidding on that last claim but if it were marketed that way these would be sold out.

    Runs true to size!
