Description

Estremo Shoe Cover

Winter rides never looked all that enticing before. Frozen toes just aren't your thing, and we don't blame you — but neither is the droning whine of the trainer. Castelli aims to make the blustery outdoors a little bit more appealing, with exceptionally warm kits that keep you toasty from head to toe, and the Estremo Shoe Covers take toasty-foot duty very seriously. They're built to handle extreme temperatures, and extreme conditions, rated for temperatures ranging from 4-degrees to 41-degrees Fahrenheit, and packing in GORETEX Infinium membrane for total protection from rain, snow, sleet, and wheel spray. The cover is built from Polartec Power Stretch Pro, which offers a fleece backed lining to trap heat on the inside, while the outer membrane wards off all showers and wind. A high cuff helps seal any gaps between your kit and your shoes, while an AquaGuard YKK zipper prevents moisture from sneaking in the back.

  • Take on the harshest winter rides with toasty toes
  • Polartec Power Stretch Pro fleece traps in heat
  • GORE-TEX Infinium fabric offers windproof water protection
  • Seal out every drop of rain and snow with YKK AquaGuard zip
  • Ultra-durable fabric under foot helps avoid tears and abrasion
  • High cuff seals out icy chills between your kit and shoes
  • Stay visible on frosty rides with reflective accents

too tight on calf

I ordered a set of medium shoe covers as they should have fit my shoe (men's shoe size 41.5-42). They easily got over the my road shoes, but are too tight to be able to zip up on the calves if wearing anything other than a super thin sock. Not feasible for riding with winter tights. Might want to order a size bigger if you are at the upper end of the size

These are very warm shoe covers and are of a nice material except for the underside of the toe, after just one ride that portion had a small tear where I missed clipping in which I know everybody probably does every now and then kind of made me sick after what I paid for them so I cut a small piece of intertube and used gorilla glue to patch each one of the toe areas I believe this will help to keep it from tearing further.Castelli needs to make the toe area out of a more durable material.

I wear a size 45 shoe, I'm a slender guy, and yet I could not even get the size XXL to fit over my shoe, no matter how hard I stretched it. I even tried to pull it over the shoe without the shoe on my foot. Ridiculous. This seems to be a theme with Castelli products.

These are the warmest shoe covers I have found. With the aid of wool socks, they keep my feet warm even in temperatures in the 30's. I haven't ridden in temperatures below freezing so I can't rate them for colder temperatures. I have the largest size and they fit my shoes (47.5 extra wide) fine. The zipper in the back of the cover makes them easy to put-on over my shoes. They allow more than enough room for my cleats. I haven't found them to last any longer, or less long, then other brands. I can usually get one season+ from them. I live in Southwest Washington state and generally need them late fall unit early spring. If they have a disadvantage, it's probably their high price. I believe it's worth the price for the comfort they provide.

This are one the nicest shoecovers i own. I have several shoecovers from different brands Assos being one of them, who by the way it's a OVERPRICED and OVERRATED BRAND. But, this particular model by Castelli is perfectly made for winter riding with the Infinium Goretex Shell and Polartec insulation. Better than all my shoecovers, ESPECIALLY ASS O S

So first, they are snug. I got them on a size 43 Sidi winter cycling shoe. The first fit will feel like there’s something wrong, but relax, take a deep breath, it fits. It was 31F and windy. The sun just vanished. I was not worried about being cold. It was the last thing on my mind. These are about as good as its going to get. They don’t feel delicate. Although I tend to treat them that way. The fleece is nice. Kind of billowy. Buy these and enjoy your cold rides.

Would these work with gravel/cx shoes like the Sidi Tiger with egg beaters? Thanks! Kirk
