Endurance 2 Short
Tackle those long base mile rides in the Endurance 2 Short from Castelli. It designs the short to offer comfort for the entire duration of your ride so you can focus on the route and not your attire. Made of Castelli’s Endurance Evolution fabric, the short stays in place with a compressive fit made to help support muscles and wicks moisture away quickly. Further muscle support comes courtesy of textured compression side panels.
Castelli builds the Endurance 2 with its top-tier Progetto X2 Air Seamless chamois that’s redesigned to increase breathability and comfort. It sits softly against the skin, with a bacteriostatic layer and four-way stretch in the two-layer design. Castelli also includes its lie-flat GIRO3 leg grippers to keep the leg openings in place and have a soft, not sticky, feel against the skin. Final details include the embossed Castelli wordmark on the legs that add a touch of elegance.
- A Castelli short for long, intensive rides

- Wicks moisture quickly so you stay dry and cool
- Textured compression side panels offer additional muscle support
- Embossed Castelli wordmark looks great
- Progetto X2 Air Seamless insert improves comfort and increases airflow
- Giro3 leg grippers lie flat and keep the openings in place

Replacing an older pair of Castelli shorts. Use these to ride indoors, rather than bibs. I like this latest version of the Progetto pad and the leg grippers. Fit is comfortably snug. (true to size for Castelli).

The seams are poorly placed for me. Causes a lot of pain. Tried them only a few times. I gave them a shot. Even with a lot of antichafe, no go. I ordered bc I have Castelli aero race 4 bib with same chamy that I really like, but these shorts have totally different stitch pattern in the front. The seam down the front center and stitching over top of the chamy are the problem. I have several other bibs and shorts of various brands that don’t hurt like these. Too bad because the chamy on these is among the best.

After reading quite a few reviews complaining about the sizing of the Castelli Endurance Shorts I went ahead and ordered a medium and large sample to try out. The medium size fits me perfectly, yes they are tight and they are meant to be tight as they are compression shorts for muscle support. The Progetto X2 Air insert is very good keeping the lower parts comfortable for short or long periods of time. Craftsmanship and material are top-notch. * If your midsection is larger than your chest you should look for a different pair of cycling shorts, perhaps a different brand. endurance 2 short - For a Chamois I have switched to shorts and have two other brands - the Castielli is the best. It is tight. I almost always take a medium - I have one Castiellii Medium and they held me tight which was great for long rigts but it felt a littl tight. I talked to the Competitive sales guy and he said the large was just a little larger and might fit better. Nope - just loose enough that I did move around in it. They were great to exchange it. Super service, One special item - is that they DID NOT answer the phone with how they were compiling with all the virus stuff and then put you on hold for a long period saying that call volume was higher than normal (it's been month of the new normal I was ready to wait - put the phone on speaker laid it down but by then a real live person got on helped me thanks - Tom

Castelli shorts with exposed padding

I upgraded from lower level shorts to this pair of shorts. The padding is primo but at the apex of the heart shaped buttocks padding, the stitching is not solid and the under layer of padding is exposed. I thought that the item I had received was a defective pair and exchanged for new pair from Competitive Cyclist. The replacement pair has the same stitching pattern with exposed under layer. Knowing that high end Italian cycling clothing is very precise, I can only assume this is the way that the product is made. I felt it's worth writing a review to reveal that this isn't a defective product and probably the way it was designed. Also, I'm an average size American male- 5'7"- 165lbs. The sizing of Castelli is very small- I had to order XXL to get proper fit. My thighs and buttocks is NOT that large!. Just sayin'!!

Usually wear medium, and the large fits pretty well but snug. Padding is good. For some reason, at the bottom of the short on the back of both legs I get quarter size "rug" burns during my rides - roughly 72 mi. Have two other Castelli shorts and this is not a problem. Have tried butt cream and that doesn't make much of a difference.

They are tighter than other brands of shorts, so keeping with others that have commented - they do run small. They have great padding and the chamois feels good. Overall a good pair of riding shorts.

Really enjoying these. I find that between the tight compressive fit, and the multi piece chamois they do take a few minutes at the start of each ride to settle in to the right place. They are cut small, but not as extreme as the Velocissimo. I was upgrading from the (previous version) Evoluzione and found these comparable although with more compression. I couldn't get the Velocissimo's much past my knees. If it helps: I wear a 30-31" waist in most pants and am wearing a size small. **Edit: to answer Anthony** I had the same concern, but they have been fine. The bottoms come down to about 2" above my kneecap

I've got a bunch of Castelli bike shorts, and I've always been a large. I went back and checked after these came to make sure I wasn't insane! These are significantly smaller than previous sizes. I on the other hand have been the same size now for a few decades.

I usually buy Pearl Izumi, Specialized and Louis Garneau in M. These would not even fit around my thighs and I am not a big guy.

I'm 6'2", fit, getting older. XL jerseys, L shorts. These run very small...I normally wear a L in PI, for extra support...got these in an XL, have to return, too tight. Short waisted too.

I had to return my order due to incorrect size. I followed the sizing chart and ordered M...could hardly get them on. I am 6', 170 lb. waist 32-33.

You seemingly always have to move up in sizing with most of any short - if you want to keep your manhood. I own the Tri shorts and they are the most comfortable shorts on earth, in fact, I use them year round for all my road riding, and left the diaper-shorts at home - who needs all that unecessary foam in your pants?

Hi Dave, I am the same height as you and concerned about the length? Do the bottoms sit well below your knee? Thanks for the review!
