Great Shorts

This is my second pair of Castelli Shorts with the Progetto X2 Air Seamless chamois which works really well for my loins and their interface with my saddles. The shoulder strap material is much more robust than the 1st pair of Castelli's I have which tore and now have gaping holes in them. I am looking forward to many great miles on these shorts.

Just took these out for their first ride. Love everything about these bibs except the chamois. After about 45 minutes in the saddle my bum was starting to get a little sore. I’ve got bibs that cost half of what these cost that do better. Expected much better from Castelli. Very disappointed. Sizing wise I usually go with a large, the XL worked will for me though XXL might have been slightly better.

I've read a lot of comments about how these shorts run small, but have to disagree. While they may feel a bit snug when you first put them on, you'll soon realize that the material has a lot of give and will flex even more so once you start sweating on a ride. As a point of reference, I struggle to find a decent fit since I'm short relative to my muscle mass (i.e., thick thighs and butt) and don't fit into the typical cyclist build. That said, these are solid bib shorts that I've worn for close to 2,000 miles without issue.

Runs small. Ordered a size up knowing it runs small, the size up is too small. Two sizes up the legs would be too long.

All other bibs I've been fine with a medium, even a large in this bib was too small. I'm not build like a typical cyclist, I'm more built like a running back or rugby player. This hasn't been a problem with other bibs, I've heard over and over that Castelli is the best and was anxious to try this. I believe my hips were too wide and it didn't have the protection needed for a long ride. I'd hesitate to recommend this for someone who carries a lot of muscle. This bib was not made for you. After ordering 2 sizes up, the shorts were too long. This clearly isn't made for someone like me

Super comfy for long rides

Just love the Progetto X2 seamless chamois. Super comfy, no bunching or chafing. Wore them on a 5 hour (ride time) ride today. The fabric is very nice and the length if perfect for me. The XL is a good fit for me based on measurements and the sizing table. (I typically buy clothes in S if they're long enough or M... only in cycling outfits do I ever even consider XL. :) But if that's what fits, who cares what the label says.) I'm XL in Castelli jerseys as well. 6'0" 170 lbs. I picked these based on riding knickers and full length tights over winter (brushed nanoflex) with the X2 Air chamois. Also XL, BTW. Brilliant stuff!

I have a pair of Castelli bib tights & size large fit like a glove. These shorts in the same large size are way small. Maybe small - medium would the correct labeling

Poor Seam Placement
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Pros: Great Chamois padding, good fit, decent price Cons: Not so flat seam located mid-line right where your soft bit is located, chamois coverage doesn't cover the fatal seam rubbing on your soft bit, near sheer panels. I do not recommend these bib shorts.

Euro sizing - order at least one size up or you'll be singing soprano. Tried on at LBS and one size up still way too tight. Chamois seemed nice but never got to ride on it. Adios, Castelli you don't fit us 'normal' folks..

Good, but not the most comfortable
- Familiarity:

I bought these in 3XL and wear a 38-40 waist in jeans. They look great, but I'm not in love with the fit. I like my shorts to be midway up my thigh, and these are a little longer. The bibs are a more narrow and not as comfy as the ones on my Rapha or La Passione bibs, but they're not uncomfortable. They're really good. They're just not awesome.

Husband loves these!!!
This bib is my husband’s favorite. He swears with the comfort and fit. Castelli bike wear are expensive but it’s worth the price.

I though the chamois was well designed, and the fit was good, but the see-through panels on the side from the leg to the top of the glutes put me off.

Sizing too small

These are built for thin bodies. The XL wouldn't get over my thighs, made for long lean folks not short stout guys like me. Great looking quality, just not for my size. Bought Specialized XL Bibs at LBS and they fit fine.

I have larger quads and these bibs take a little more time to put on than others I've had. I like them, but I don't love them.

My go to size for Castelli/Sportful bibs is XL, but these were so tight I wouldn't be able to pedal. Hardly could pull them on. Will return and try sizing up. 6'2" 190

I completely agree. The shorts are great and the pad is good even for Castelli, but the see-thru panels are awful. My wife was like, "Are you serious?" and she's a cyclists and gets it. WTH were they thinking?
