Why We Like The Emergency 2 Rain Jacket

Castelli is serious when it comes to battling the elements, and they've amped up their Emergency Rain Jacket to offer the Emergency 2 Rain Jacket. It's ideal for wet weather and breathes so well that many top-class athletes reach for this jacket in inclement weather during the spring classics. While it's not meant to be an all-day rain jacket, it's designed to tackle wet weather in stride when the weather takes an unexpected turn for the worst.

adequate, somewhat "packable"

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
Small
Weight:

The jacket is advertised as "packable," but that's misleading. You can indeed roll it up, find a band of some sort to hold it together and fit it in the back of a jersey. But at this price it should include a small attached pouch into which you can fit the entire jacket.

Not Aero

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
L
Weight:

I got a size L, 6 feet, 174 pounds. It is easily stuffed in a back pocket. When I did have to use it I found it a bit too loose and flapped in the wind too much. I could tell it slows you down. I try to avoid putting it on since then.
