Description

Diluvio C Shoecover 16

Instead of your feet soaking up road spray and rain like a sponge, get yourself the Diluvio C Shoever 16 from Castelli. This neoprene shoecover replays oncoming showers, puddle splashes, and spray from soaking through and compromising comfort during inclement weather. Not only is the shoecover's neoprene highly water-resistant, but it's backed up with sealed seams and a waterproof zipper that keep moisture from sneaking inside. Additionally, you'll find a reflective tab along the ankle for standing out in low-light conditions, as well as reinforced toe panel where it tends to see a bit more abrasion.
  • Protects feet from road spray, splashes, and rain
  • 3mm neoprene shoecover repels outside moisture
  • Cozy fleece lining adds warmth in colder weather
  • Sealed seams and waterproof zipper keep moisture out
  • Reflective tab along ankle for extra visibility
  • Reinforced toe panel protects it from abrasion

I'm a big fan of castelli. But very disappointed with this item. First I always use xl in this brand. Got these in L/XL . Hard time getting over my shoe size 43.5. second hard to zip up. Felt like the zipper was going to break on the first zip. When taking them off the Velcro on my shoes sticks to the fleece material inside. Not very breathable. Short ride in 40 degree weather and my feet were soaked. Only reason I'm giving it 2 stars because they look good.

They work great, although after only a couple of rides they have developed a couple of tears and rips on the bottom. Had a flat one of the first rides out with them so had to stand and walk a bit which seems to have created these. I'd expect a bit more longevity, would be good if they put a harder surface on the bottom vs the soft shell they've used. They do seem to repel water, although not to a great degree and I'm not riding in substantial rain.

As water resistant as a sieve

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought these not for warmth, but for high vis water resistant properties. They are high vis, and are advertised as being “highly water resistant”, but anytime I’ve been caught in even a mild shower wearing them, my shoes have ended to being very wet. Very disappointed, and they are basically junk to me. If you want something for warmth, they’re great, but if you want them to keep your feet dry, avoid like the plague

Both the neon yellow and the red are really bright, which is exactly what I wanted for visibility, the rest of my winter kit being black. The XL's fit neatly over my size 46 Shimano shoes, look far better than the Gore Windstopper covers I still use on warmer days. With wool socks (Castelli) they keep my feet warm down to the mid 20's at least, maybe lower (my orthotics block the air vents in the soles of my shoes, which helps in the winter). They are easy to get on and off as long as you remember to fit them around the cleats. And they are a lot less expensive than some of the other shoe covers out there. Only downside is that it's almost impossible to turn BOA dials with them on, but that's true for almost any shoe cover.

Beware of sizing

Runs small

fit is definitely on the small side. purchased for my daughter. She wears 38 shoe. Purchased S/M. Per sizing chart these "should" be fine. they will not fit over her shoes at all. quality seems on par for Castelli but the sizing is way small.

Quality material that keeps my feet warm. SO far only used in temps as low as 36 degrees but feet were sweating afterwards. I keep having issue zipping the back of the overshoes. Its to the point I think I am in jeopardy of tearing off the zipper. My shoe size is a 13 so I purchased the XXL.

Will this fit over a shoe with a BOA dial on the back of the heel, as the Narcissita model does?

Hi Chris, Yes. This will fit just fine over heel BOA

Great cover!

Great cover but had a few instances where it got sweaty. Anything above 50 degrees they just get too warm. Durable, easy to put on, and warm.

Perfect for those cold rides

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought these for my husband and this is what he has to say about them, "I love these shoe covers! They keep my feet nice and warm, especially in those lower digit temperatures. They fit just about any shoe i'd imagine, but I would be cautious if your shoes are velcro. I've noticed mine tend to stick to the velcro, and have now shown some wear. Overall, they work great, and you look good too when you're powerin' up those big hills"

Excellent Shoe Covers

Fit:

Really like these shoe covers. They are neoprene, warm and keep my feet toasty. No rubbing on the legs either. My feet are always cold, even losing circulation, but the Castelli Diluvio shoecover do the trick.

Underrated Shoecover

Fit:
True to size

The rating on Castelli site is 32-54°F I have worn them in as cold as 16°F and have had no problem. The only issue I've had, is wearing them at the upper temperature range with regular socks and they tend to get a little warm on my feet. That's the only negative I could find with this product. Now on to the positives which sums up this underrated shoecover. They are durable, easy on/off and a good value over other brands.
