Why We Like The Competizione Limited Edition Bib Short
With the Competizione Bib Shorts, pro-level Castelli quality need not come at a pro-level price tag. The Competizione features much of the same technology as their higher-end offerings, like a KISS Air2 insert and Giro4 leg grippers, making it comfortable for long and short rides alike. The main panels use Castelli’s Vortex fabric for optimal breathability and comfort, while the bibs are a more open mesh to ventilate well beneath a jersey. Castelli uses a tighter Lycra for better compression, stretch, and rebound, where there’s more movement when pedaling. The KISS Air2 insert’s perforated padding and seamless upper keeps cool air moving through the short to ensure your comfort on the bike.

Inseam is too small
I bought my normal size large (I am 5'10", 150lb). They are very nice shorts. However.... be aware that the inseam length is much shorter than other Castelli bibs I have used. I am returning them because they are so short. The Free Aero RC is much longer and I would recommend that bib 100%.

Fits me well. I recommend it.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- XXL
- Height:
- 5' 11"
- Weight:
- 190
So as to help out others: I am 5'11" 190 lbs with average build (you get what you get genetics-wise!) with slightly bigger thighs than the average build. The XXL (yes, a double-X-L) fits me well. An XL would have been too tight to reasonably wear. The fit is tight enough but not too tight. Leg and strap length fits me well. I intend to use this indoors so the thin material is appropriate and what I prefer. Pad more than sufficient for 30-45 minutes of cycling.

Great fit, gripper doesn't grip well
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The fit, comfort and aesthetics are nice. However the gripper doesn't grip very well so its not long till i look like i'm wearing short shorts and they're bunching up.

ripped at the seams after 1st wear
Maybe I received a defective item. There was a loose thread at the seams when I received it, but I ignored it. After the first wear, it ripped at the seams, where the loose thread was. So I am assuming it was faulty from the beginning. Very disappointed.

Returning - way way small
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- 2XL
- Height:
- 6' 1"
- Weight:
- 220
Not sure who Castelli uses for their fit models? 38° waist and could not get 2XL beyond my thighs. Thought I'd try Castelli again but once again, sizing insanely small. Returning. Package had a W sticker, not sure that means women's or not.

The sizing is just the same as all my other Castelli bib shorts, did not size up like the other reviews.

Comfy bibs, but small
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
the bibs run 2 sizes small... i normally get a medium, but i could barely get into the large and the straps were digging into my shoulders. the XL fit much better and i didn't look or feel like a sausage. i'll update this after i put a few hundred miles on them UPDATE: it's been a couple of hundred miles... i love these bibs. they are super comfy and i would totally get them again, but the suspenders will dig in a little if you don't pull them up enough. it's a small thing (ha!). i woulddefinitely get these again.

Great Fit, Comfortable Bibs
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- Large
- Height:

- Weight:
- 150
These bibs are a great value, especially when CC has them on sale. They have a typical Castelli fit, which is very form-fitting, which I prefer. They're light and breathable, especially the bib straps, but those straps may be too snug for taller riders. The leg grippers work well, without any binding, and the highly perforated chamois is fantastic, which is the key to comfort on long rides. Unlike many other reviewers, I did not "size up two sizes. The size chart had me as a Large, I ordered the large, and the fit is perfect. I would recommend going up a size if you're between sizes, but an XL or XXL would have been way too big on me. As others have noted, the thin, breathable straps are delicate, I always launder my bibs in a zippered mesh bag, so the straps don't catch on anything and tear.

Great bibs, but run 2 sizes small
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Really comfortable bibs for 2-4 hour rides. The thigh grips stay in place and are comfy. Shoulder straps are supportive, if delicate. Wash gently in cold water with limited detergent and hang dry to get the longest life. Size up 2x over what you normally wear. I had to get an XL, which gave me a bit of a complex. :-)
