Awesome Jersey

The sizing seems way off. I originally sized up and ordered an XL but then sized up 2 sizes to an XXL.. An XL might have worked, but felt a little too short. I'm fairly thin, and the XXL still fits nice and snug. Great construction and very comfortable and lightweight. Perfect jersey for warm days!

Tight Fit, comfort for Warm Days, Climbs

I returned as it was a little too skin-tight. However, it did say Climbing Jersey. It breathes well, comfortable, perfect for 80 degree + days. No collar and arms are extended. I would not recommend for every day rides but perfect for certain weather, lightweight.

Good jersey but too long in the torso

This is a very nice jersey, no question at all. The description on the Castelli website mentions that it is modeled off of their aero race jersey (which I assumed meant the latest 6.0 version), so the fit (again, I assumed) should be the same between the Climber's 3.0 jersey and the Aero Race 6.0. I learned firsthand that this is not quite true. The Aero Race 6.0 jersey is slightly shorter in the front and does not crinkle and bunch up very much when in the riding position. The same size Climber's 3.0 jersey creates three big "waves" along the length of the zipper whilst in the riding position. I'm 6 feet tall and 150 pounds and wear a size medium in both varieties. I'd buy this again if it was just a bit shorter in the front. Maybe a size small would be better. Other than that one nitpicky gripe, this jersey is great. It is very transparent and skintight, so be ready to either wear a summer base layer or show off your chest and stomach to everyone who looks at you because it's likely that you won't be hiding anything.

Emotional roller-coaster!

Can a jersey be the cause of an emotional journey? If you asked me a few weeks ago I would have said no, but after trying out this jersey I'm inclined to say that they just might. When you first read the reviews and see the wide range of reactions regarding sizing you can't help but feel a bit of fear. "Do I ignore the fit guidelines and size up? Do I size up once? Twice? Look for a different jersey?!" I decided instead to take a leap of faith and buy the jersey size that the guide suggests. I can't remember exactly what Yoda said in those prequels but while I waited for the shipment to arrive I discovered that fear leads to anxiousness when it comes to jersey sizing. "Did I make a terrible mistake? Will I have to deal with on-line shopping returns in the midst of a global pandemic!?" Finally the fateful day when the jersey arrived in a nondescript cardboard shipping box (surprisingly fitting it turns out since modern race-cut jersey leaves nothing to the imagination). Then you extract the jersey from the box and you can't help but double-check the sizing. "Surely they sent me the wrong size!" It's at this point that I needed take a breath, and try it on. Like. a. glove. Whether you consider this jersey to fit or not is entirely up to how you want a jersey to fit. Don't think "1990's EPO-fueled, ankle socks and flapping jersey" sizing, think more "body paint". And why do they always show cycling clothing models standing up?! This jersey feels terrible standing up! When you try this jersey on try it on while sitting on a bike, only then will know if it actually fits. Finally the last phase of this jersey's emotional arc will start to creep in before acceptance. The return of the awkward, self-conscious teenager that still hides within all of us. "Why did this jersey fit me but not the other reviewers?! Are their pecs and delts getting in the way!" Finally you arrive at acceptance and realize that we're all made differently and that's okay and there's a jersey out there for everybody. If you're looking for a modern, race-cut jersey that will leave nothing to the imagination and you're willing to accept your non-swole physique this jersey, when you buy it in the size it was intended for, is your reward for those days of stopping at one beer, for skipping dessert and for struggling to do even one or two pull-ups.
