Description

The pros' pain is your gain.

The significance of the name Arenberg in the Castelli Arenberg Women's Gel Gloves? The Arenberg Forest in northeastern France is home to the most famously brutal stretch of the famously bumpy Paris-Roubaix cycling race. It's the event that manufacturers use to both test and debut bikes, technologies, accessories, and anything else to reduce vibrations and increase comfort for cyclists. Castelli's Arenberg gloves are so named because they feature the most generous gel padding in the palm of all of the company's gloves, providing maximum insulation from numbness-inducing vibration from the road and its bumps and debris. Those gel inserts live in a durable, grippy AX Suede fabric, and the rear of the glove is a light and breathable polyester mesh. The cuff closes with a hook-and-loop style closure for easy adjustment.

  • AX Suede fabric with gel padding
  • Polyester mesh back

Wanted to love these...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Love the unique styling with the open back (makes for funky tan lines, however) and the grippy palms. However, the velcro strap and the plastic over the velcro attachment have come apart on both gloves and I've only been using them for about 2 months. Still functional but look kinda silly and I'm not a seamstress. I expect they will all fall apart as such. Bummer because I was ready to order another pair.

Nice Gloves

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

It is very nice to have gloves while riding. Without, i always seemed to get blisters. I will never regret buying gloves to ride with.
