Arenberg Gel 2 Glove

Built to help cushion the blows from the brutal 5-star sector of cobbles through the infamous Forest of Arenberg during Roubaix comes the Arenberg Gel 2 Glove from Castelli. The glove features Castelli Damping System gel padding to cushion the hits and together with the silicone grip, it adds control and comfort. The back of the glove uses micromesh so your hands stay cool and the easy to adjust hook-and-loop closure makes dialing in the fit an easy affair. The final glove details include the microsuede nose wipe on the thumb that makes clean up a breeze.

  • Castelli's short finger gloves for punishing rides
  • Castelli Damping System cushions the ride
  • Gel padding and silicone grip increase comfort and control
  • Adjustable hook-and-loop wrist closure dials in the fit
  • Micromesh back keeps hands cool and dry
  • Microsuede on the thumb offers a soft wiping surface

Two rides in and a major seam on the glove split.

Fits well, great on those days when you are on that chip and seal with vibration.

    Quality control?

    I've used it several times

I really liked these gloves. However, after only 4 or 5 rides and light use, the seam stitching on one of them become loose, rendering the gloves useless. Trying to see if I can return or get a replacement.

Almost as good as the previous version

I've got two pairs of the previous version of these Arenberg Gel gloves, which I've had for a couple years. Those gloves are my favorite by far, so I bought a pair of the Arenberg Gel 2. When they arrived I immediately noticed a couple things that were different, one being the color. I like white gloves and the new ones are white, but with a greenish tent. Not a huge thing, but definitely not as white as the previous gen. The other thing is the pull tab by your wrist, which is new on the gen 2. If you look in the pics you can see what I'm talking about. It's annoying because it flaps in the wind and is offset to one side and not really effective. After the first couple rides, I stopped noticing it, but at first I really hated it and thought of just cutting it off. The gloves themselves are very nice and padding is light and in the right spots for road cycling. Overall I would definitely recommend them, but the first gen is better.

I love and have e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g Castelli. Friends ask me if I'm sponsored. (No) The gel padding on these gloves is inadequate at best. Hard to believe the description is even close to accurate. Bought two pairs and am returning one as the one pair did get me through a cold, "sniffly" ride.
