Description

Aero Race 6.0 Limited Edition Jersey

Castelli has been optimizing the aerodynamics of its cycling apparel as far back as 2006 with its first aero jersey built for road racing. Sure, skinsuits have been used for decades to shave seconds in TTs, but they all too often neglect moisture management not to mention the lack of rear pockets. Castelli's latest version of its slippery top, the Aero Race 6.0 Full-Zip Jersey, is the culmination of everything it's learned about material and design and is distilled into its fastest jersey to date.

We'll be the first to admit that aerodynamic clothing feels like chasing marginal gains, however, the jersey is optimized at the real-world speeds we often find ourselves riding (18 - 34mph) and the human body makes up the majority of watt-sucking drag on our rides. This sixth revision of its aero jersey is more aerodynamic and better fitting than ever thanks to CFD analysis of wake flow while a cyclist is in the riding position helping to optimize fabric and seam placement. The jersey also received feedback for Team Sky since it also has to be comfortable on those long training days and races.

  • Castelli's fastest jersey thanks to CFD analysis
  • Optimized fabric placement and seam construction reduces drag
  • Airflow shoulder construction eliminates flapping material
  • Velocity Rev2 fabric on front and sleeve slices through the wind
  • 3D mesh back increases breathability
  • YKK Vislon zipper helps dump excessive heat
  • Drop tail provides a perfect pocket placement and improves the fit
  • Elbow-length stretch sleeves with raw-cut edges offer a seamless transition

This is my 1st pair of Castelli's in 10 years, been off the bike for 5 now. I did my due diligence on researching for a set that will last years to come. The Aero Castelli set is way to go! I felt like I was in a time trail in the TDF the 1st ride with how snug and aerodynamic these were. I purchased this & the Castelli Free Aero Race 4 Limited Edition Bib Short Chartreuse, M (The color scheme fits perfect). While the bibs run short, which is expected on anything brand new and I know over time they will fit into form. I see all these reviews of other complaining about this or that on how tight or small they run. Well they are "Fit to Form" if you can read the Tech Specs! Meaning a tighter fit on your body. The chamois is very comfortable and forms my saddle for a perfect comfortable ride. Thank you CC for the 12 Days Special!

I've used this jersey twice now and am loving it so far. My favorite thing personally are the sleeves: they are long (come down to your elbow) and are nice and tight for even the skinniest of arms. I've been able to wear it with arm warmers and even after sliding the warmers down the sleeves still grip. Castelli runs pretty small so size up. I wear a base layer most of the time and a sleeveless layer underneath is perfect. The two rides I've gone on wearing this jersey have been pretty long and my pockets were stuffed with food and eventually layers. Overall it's a great aero jersey and Castelli does not disappoint yet again!
