Description

Stay dry in a deluge.

When you're shivering on the start line, waiting for the announcers to painstakingly work their way through mispronouncing every name in the call-ups as the rain slowly seeps through every layer of kit, the last thing you want to worry about is soggy, heavy shoes off the line and a cold squish in your toes with every pedal stroke. Keep your feet dry and turn the pedals comfortably in the dampest of weather with the Castelli Aero Nano Shoe Covers.

While shoe covers have long been employed to reduce drag from ratchets and other shoe accoutrements during time trials and road races, Castelli takes things further with the Aero Nanos by fashioning them from silicone-coated waterproof and windproof stretch fabric to fend off the weather. Sealed seams and a waterproof zipper bolster their water-blocking abilities, while a silicone gripper holds the cuff in place to eliminate bunching and prevent seepage from above the ankle. The Aero Nanos incorporate a rubberized bottom side to increase durability, and reflective elements increase visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.

Poor quality

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These start out strong, but the quality is poor. After a half-dozen or so wearings, the seam tape just fell off and they don't repel much of anything.

I found the sizing to be just a hair small. I wear a 44 shoe and ordered the XL, and it fit generously -- very easy to get on and off and not taxing the seams.

Nice shoe cover

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: M

Received these shoe covers for Christmas. I had to size up from what someone ordered for me. They fit tight, like they should, pretty easy to put on after the first time. Nice zipper to close it with. Easy to take off. I'm happy with my gift and happy to have warm toes.

Hi. do these zip on? can't tell from the photo exactly. thx!

Functions as it should......

I wear a size 45 Shimano shoe on the road. I have the XL size of these covers. They are a tight fit but they do fit and once over the shoe, seem perfect.

I have snagged them on the buckles though, and there's a small hole that I'm sure is going to grow into a larger hole in a couple more wearings. Not sure if I'm happy about that but some stuff I count as a cost of doing business and shoe covers are in that category.

I'm a thin build guy and even the XL stays tight around my lower calf.
