Light it up.
For Capo's new HV (high visibility) Padrone Jersey, the apparel wizards applied the latest in reflective fabric technology, which provides the same technical attributes and sleek styling of their original Padrone, but pushes safety to the surface with strategically-placed panels of materials that illuminate when light hits their surfaces. Now you receive the same tried-and-proven Padrone Jersey, but with added safety built directly into its design.
The HV builds off of the original Padrone, which took 18 months to develop, and it is comprised of 22 panels made of several fabrics. The panels for the chest, shoulders, and sleeves are HSC, (high stretch compression). It's lightweight, breathable, wicking skinsuit material. In place of the Carbon E from the original Padrone's back panel and side zones, Capo applied its new Super Black and P-10 Membranes. Both of these ultra-reflective materials are what contribute to the jersey's visible properties, and they were engineered to provide the same controlled stretch, wind- and water repellency, and wicking abilities as the materials they replace. The front of the waist and the sleeves are cuffed with a new creation Capo calls Dual-Ply Power V, which has been finished off with reflective bands, too. It is two fabrics bonded together — vertically-ribbed Power Lycra on the outside for controlled stretch and V-Mesh on the inside for comfort, grip, and wicking.
Capo took a hard look at its top-end race jerseys, and it applied its streamlined fits as a starting platform. With a body-following cut, the Padrone features paneling that smoothly wraps the upper arms and torso, which serves to follow your motions while in the saddle. Capo extended the sleeves down to just above the elbow, providing just the right balance of protection and freedom of movement.
The design of the three traditional pockets has also been considered and modified. The side pockets have been cut on an angle for easier access, and the center pocket has a smaller, 10cm by 15cm zippered security pocket that is big enough for a phone or other media device. The jersey was finished off with a full-length front zipper.
The Capo Padrone HV Jersey is available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the color Black.

OK, there's no doubt that Capo's new high-vis technology works. It works incredibly well, actually. So, if your intention is to have a high-vis jersey for low-light riding & training, this is the right, and only, jersey for you. However, it's worth noting that this isn't the most breathable piece that you're going to have in your wardrobe. The points of high-vis fabric application are a little heavy, and these panels don't breathe as well as the rest of the jersey. But if you're riding in low-light conditions, you'll be riding in lower temperatures, so it all balances out.
The fit is standard Capo - somewhere between race & club, but at 5'10" 140lbs, I found it a little boxy in the chest. However, it's completely fine given it's application, low-light riding & training. Overall, this is an interesting piece, but I wouldn't consider it a "go-to" jersey for hot conditions.
Capo's new high-viz technology is amazing! When the headlamps of an automobile hit the crushed crystals in Capo's high-viz material, the material practically lights up.
I often ride at night after work. Of course, I use good bike lights, front & rear. It's not enough. I consider the use of one of these garments essential to my safety.
