A worthy replacement.

Don’t wait for your chamois to tell you it’s given up before buying a back-up pair of bibs to have waiting in your drawer. If your go-to bib short has seen you through coffee shop loops, a few impromptu race days, and miles of training rides, accept that it won’t last forever and grab the Capo Fondo Bib Short to ease your pain on the day old faithful needs to be retired. With a reasonable price point and an effective Lycra construction, the Fondo makes an amenable addition to kit, and a worthy candidate for becoming your new favorite short.

Prepare for the Fondo to follow a slim, contoured silhouette when you put it on; it may feel tight at first compared to your stretched out old short, but the almost compressive fit of the Lycra will support your muscles through long rides and follow your body movements in the saddle, wicking moisture away from your skin as you sweat. Capo also treated the Lycra with a Coldblack finish, which even better equips it to resist absorbing heat from the sun on days with little cloud cover.

In the saddle, Capo’s Endurance 3D chamois helps you realize just how ready your old bib short was to be replaced, with its high-density foam acting as a plush barrier between you and the seat that doesn’t inhibit your ability to pedal. On top of the strategically shaped cushioning, a microfiber layer shuttles moisture away from your skin as you ride to limit the chances of chafing and discomfort on long days. Both legs of the short stay in place courtesy of two leg grippers, while airy mesh bibs sit smoothly under your jersey for a supportive fit from torso to legs.

  • Versatile everyday bib short embraces training days
  • Streamlined silhouette leaves no bunched or stretched fabric
  • Lycra construction supports muscles and wicks moisture
  • Airy mesh bibs create smooth fit through torso
  • Endurance 3D Chamois uses targeted cushioning for support

Great long ride short!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: medium

I have had a few rides in these shorts and found them to be very comfy for long rides. Fit is very good. I am 5'10" 160lbs and the medium fits snug but not overly so. materials feels nice. Longest ride so far was 80miles and not a hint of a problem.

Gripper tore off first ride

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: medium

First ride, were pretty comfortable to start. Adjusted shorts a big after a climb and gripper stitching tore. I'm 5'9'' 145lbs and its a medium so not too small or anything

Must have been defective, as I have not had that happen on mine.

What about the inseam length? From the pics they appear shorter than others but appearances can be deceiving. I'm a little shorter than you are but stocky so it's really hard to find shorts that don't come down behind my knee.

Very comfy bibs !

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

First long ride I used these on was the Bottega Gran Fondo in Napa Valley 2 weeks ago ( it seemed fitting ) - 78.8 miles and about 5100 vertical feet. I was a bit tired at the end, but was amazed at how comfy these felt in the saddle even at the end. These are my 2nd pair of Capo bibs - love them ! I'm 6', 195 lbs., and they fit me perfectly !

Did the 2016 90 mile / 6300 foot Bottega Gran Fondo last weekend. At the end, as I ate lunch after the ride, I told my wife that my butt felt so good, I could drive 1 1/2 hours home from Napa in these bibs, and watch a 2 hour movie. She said I was crazy. What's crazy is how comfy these bibs are. I have 4 pair now ! Love them !

Hi Craig - what size bibs do you have? I'm 6'2" and 195 and deciding between L and XL. Thanks!

I got Large. I'm 6', 193 lbs., 35 waist on my Levi 501 shrink to fit jeans.

What is the inseam of the Fondo and how does it compare to the inseam of the Padrone?
