Helm 27.5 Boost Fork

The Cane Creek Helm 27.5 Boost Fork is poised to help you unlock new lines and allow you to completely dial in your ride with its stiff chassis, 3-way damper tuning, and air volume and travel adjustment. You'll quickly appreciate its super smooth stroke right out of the box as each fork is put on the dyno before leaving the factory so you can boost down water bar steps, carve steep switchback turns, and lay off the brakes through wheel grabbing rock gardens with the confidence knowing that your fork is up to the task. This particular model of the Helm is available with 100-to-170-millimeters of supple travel and sturdy, 35-millimeter stanchions that offer stiff and sure tracking, with refined air springs and a highly evolved damper that soaks up blown out trails and slick rock slabs alike. And although its Double Barrel Shocks employs the industry lauded twin-tube damper, after five years of development and testing, Cane Creek found that a mono-tube damper was most effective for simplicity of servicing, weight savings, and reliability purposes.

This Helm Boost Fork is air-sprung, and its Doublair Spring allows riders the ability to re-adjust an indexed rod and static piston assembly. Removing this assembly and moving the piston up or down effectively changes how the fork ramps up—all without adding volume spacers like you've come to expect with other brands. This gives you the ability to have a superlinear stroke, allowing you to use all of your travel, or if you're a hard charger, achieve the progressive ramp-up desired for taking bigger hits and mobbing through rock gardens without blowing through your travel, or messing with volume spacers.

The damper employs the same closed, bladder structure used by others in the industry, and for good reason, namely for its lightweight build and it offers consistent damping without the fear of cavitation on long, rugged descents. This damper tune comes from burning the midnight oil in the engineering department and extensive testing by in-house rippers and pro-level racers alike. It gives you the ability to tune 10 and 20 clicks of high and low-speed compression, with an additional 15 positions of low-speed rebound adjustment letting you perfectly dial in the fork for your weight, riding style, and terrain.

Another Cane Creek exclusive is its independent positive and negative air chambers which allows the rider the ability to manually adjust the negative chamber by depressing a valve, which then equalizes both chambers. At this point, you can add or remove air from the positive chamber giving you additional tuning options to set different pressures in each chamber. This is a little bit more of a complicated set-up than forks with self-equalizing chambers, however, it's a welcome feature for the discerning rider fine-tuning every last detail of their fork's operation.
