The body of the caliper is made from a strategic mix of high grade aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel bits with a unique design that boasts impressive strength and stiffness for increased modulation and braking power compared to any other rim brake caliper. At the top, the cable runs into the caliper at the center, rather than to the side as found in most rim brake calipers. EeBrakes calls this design Cross Cable Path, and it moves the brake cable out of the wind for increased aerodynamic advantages.
The Cane Creek eeBrakes Direct Mount Brake is compatible with Shimano-style brake pads and frames using the direct mount standard. Brake pads are not included.

Second to None
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
We all love lightweight bikes and parts but when it comes at a sacrifice of functionality its not worth it. Fortunately these brakes are both light and function extremely well, very little flex from the caliper and very good braking power. I would put them to the test against anything sram or shimano is offering as far as braking and they are also about a third of a pound ligher per set. A must have for any lightweight build.
