Super Record 12 Ergopower Shifters

On a drop bar bike, the shifter/brake lever combo is a very critical touch point. Not only do your hands spend a vast majority of time on them throughout the ride requiring the ergonomics be dialed for all-day comfort, the precision and power of your shifting and braking depends on it. When Campagnolo launched its new 12-speed group, it made small refinements ensuring that the legacy of its top-tier group remains intact with the Super Record 12 Ergopower Shifters.

The levers on the Super Record group are certainly stunning and we really appreciate that each function (braking, up shifting, and down shifting) all have specific levers with one task assigned to each. This does wonders for shifting accuracy when on the rivet or with bulky winter gloves and we can honestly say we've had fewer miss-shifts with Campy levers than with other firms' groups. As with previous Ultra-Shift levers, you can move up to three cogs on the downshift and five cogs on the up shift with the rear derailleur and the trim features on the front derailleur lets you use all 24 gears without cage rub. Campagnolo also worked hard to eliminate any dead lever play so you get immediate shifting engagement while activating the front derailleur with minimum effort. With mechanical shifting this good, you'll almost forget about electronic drivetrains.

Returning is the Vari-Cushion silicone rubber hoods incorporating varying densities of hypoallergenic silicone and a waffle pattern on the inside for additional cushion. They're truly a treat in the hands and feature surrounding grooves that help channel water or sweat away for an easy grip, with or without gloves. The levers ergonomics extend to its overall shape, featuring brake levers with a double curvature for a natural feel as well as two brake lever positions so you can choose the lever to bar distance that best suits your hand size. The levers continue with its signature cut-outs further saving weight and is a quick visual queue separating Super Record from Record.

As always, Super Record differentiates itself from Record and Chorus with its inclusion of exotic materials that drop grams and improves its smoothness and durability. This includes the use of lightweight titanium instead of steel for the internals. The use of these lightweight materials net the Super Record Shifters a weight savings of 24-grams over the Record shifters.

The Campagnolo Super Record 12 Ergopower Shifters include a full complement of Campagnolo cables and housing.
