Downhill delight.

Primed for high-speed riding, the CamelBak Skyline 10 LR Hydration Backpack keeps a low center of gravity when you're conquering blistering downhill runs. It sits lower across your hips and back without the sloshing and swaying of bulkier hydration packs. The XV back panel actively breathes with its ventilated foam, preventing you from becoming a wet, sweaty mess on the trail. The wide hip belt bolsters support, complete with zippered pockets for quick access to your snacks and energy gels.

It features CamelBak's newest Quick Link system, which allows you to disconnect the hose without the bladder spilling out with liquid. HydroGuard antimicrobial prevents funky build-up, especially when there's residual moisture left in the bladder. You'll find a handy tool-roll for performing essential trailside repairs. Helmet and armor attachment comes in handy when you're pedaling up jeep roads to your downhill run.

  • Crush downhill runs with this low-slung, balanced pack
  • 3-liter hydration reservoir with antimicrobial finish
  • Big Bite valve and PureFlow tube for easy sipping
  • Ventilated back panel reduces sweat build-up
  • 3D mesh harness and widened hip belt for support
  • Included tool-roll for making trailside repairs
  • Fleece-lined pocket for sunglasses and phones
  • Helmet hooks and soft armor attachment straps

Near perfect pack for mountain biking.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So this replaces for me an older version of the Osprey Raptor 14, which is also an excellent pack. Main reason to replace is the LR functionality to keep the weight low and off the shoulders. Which the Skyline 10 LR does very well, the weight stays low and the shoulders are for stability.

Some nitpicking cons of the pack:
- Would like just a touch more storage space, like 1/2-1" higher up.
- Drinking tube is like 6" too long. You can route up left side of pack but then over right shoulder to help with this, but if you do same side for both, its silly long. And no clip on the sternum strap to retain it, only the quick release magnetic one on the shoulder strap.
- Helmet carry system could be better, the Osprey lid lock is awesome, so tough to live up to.
- Waist belt isn't for people with big guts, so keep in mind if you are a clydesdale. For me its nearly maxed out so figure something like 44-46". And the waist belt is key for this pack to work right.

But its a nice compact pack. Weight stays low on the low back/hips area, almost don't feel any weight on the shoulders. The detachable water bladder makes it super easy to fill. Despite my wish for a tad more space above, this has space for a pump, mini tools, wallet, keys, phone, etc. It doesn't bounce around when descending. Haven't yet ridden in hot temps, but doesn't seem to cause as much back perspiration as other packs.

Again, near perfect pack.
