Description

Crux Water Reservoir

You can rest when the vacation's over. So, rather than sleeping in, get up and grab your trekking poles, snacks, and the Camelbak Crux Water Reservoir, so you can get to the trailhead before the parking lot fills up. An ergonomic handle provides easy, one-handed fill when you're still trying to clear the sleep from your eyes. A baffled design keeps the reservoir's profile low, so you don't have to pull everything out of your pack to slip the reservoir inside. And when finally do hit the trail, the Crux's innovative construction keeps water flowing to ensure you stay hydrated from the initial hike in to that last mile when you're blissfully exhausted from a satisfying day on the trail.

How are you supposed to drink from a 45 degree nozzle? Is there some kind of trick or specific contortion that you have to practice? I've resorted to replacing 45 degree nozzles with 90 degree nozzles, but with the new Crux reservoir the tubing is bigger and my 90 degree Camelbak nozzle doesn't fit (too small). Does Camelbak sell a 90 degree nozzle that will fit the larger tubing?

    A Great investment

I use the reservoir for hiking. The capacity, and size make it a great water source for any outdoor occasion!

    The best CamelBak Bladder yet

    Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have owned many different bladders over the years and this one really seems like the best. The bladder is made of durable materials that keep your water tasting fresh. Seems like CamelBak has really improved the closure and lid. No more o-ring to get twisted and eventually leak. The valve seems to be improved as well.

    Solid construction

Solid construction. Easy to use and clean. Keeps your water safe and ready all day. The wide mouth cover makes it easier to dry out and clean. Highly recommend users not put colored or flavored beverages in this unless you want to taste it/stain it for the near future.

    Tough & Easy To Use

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I took this on my first backpacking trip around the Timberline trail and absolutely loved it! It's easy to fill on the go. I found the 1.5L works great for long runs as well. I use this reservoir in my Osprey backpacking pack and my Camelbak day pack.

    This bladder is awesome

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This is the best bladder I have ever had. All other bladders that I have worked with have leaked or had some other problem. This one is free of problems. It is really easy to fill it up with the plastic handle that is connected to the mouth, the water flow is really smooth and the water comes out easy, it is also a really great size where it will fit in every pack and has enough water for mountain biking or a long hike, but not too big where it takes up tons of space or adds excessive weight. I would recommend this to anyone.

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This bladder has gone through 20+ trips with me and it's always been solid. Doesn't leak, smell like plastic, or give me trouble being able to place it in my bag. super solid bladder and I love the mouth piece for it as well, easy to lock and unlock.

Classic and so much better than others

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought another option from another brand that was cheaper. I wish I hadn't. This is the same great material/workmanship of the bladder I've been rocking for 11 years in my MULE pack. Save yourself some aggravation and just get the real thing.

    Go to backpacking reservoir

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I'm a big fan of the slim design of the crux water reservoir! Perfect when you already have a weekend pack that's loaded to the brim and still need to find a way to squeeze a water reservoir in. I've been using this a couple months now and have not had any issues!

Great for longer hikes and backpacking

    Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This reservoir is great, I have the Crux in a 1.5 and 2L, but recently purchased the 3L for longer hikes or when I know I need to carry water for the dogs. It gets the job done! Just know that this reservoir will be heavy when it is full since it is meant to carry a lot of water, I would go with a smaller size if you are looking for something fit for shorter day hikes.

Fits my women's CamelBak Aurora 5L

    Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got the 2L bag for my CamelBak Aurora 5L Backpack and it fits great. Haven't ran with it yet but its good to go. I made sure to clean it out to get the plastic taste out before using it. I recommend this for any CamelBak hydration backpack bag. I don't think they are as universal for all backpacks as Platypus bags but still great!
