Severe leaks

After reading all the good reviews, I must have a defective bottle as it leaks like crazy and damaged my Canon 5D MKII and 24-70mm L lens when it was in the same bag. I only use it now in my car when driving to destination and have to keep it perfectly upright or it will leak all over. (Won't fit in cupholder). I usually keep it by my leg and car seat to keep it upright and fell over this weekend during a road trip and more than 3/4" of water emptied out in 30 mins when I went to take a sip.
I've tried cleaning the rubber seal from any debris as recommended by Camelback but didn't work. Bummer.

    Fits Ice Cubes, Doesn't Spill

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used one for years and it hasn't let me down. The plastic loop built into the cap is really good for carrying the bottle, and it won't weaken and break down like the flexible plastic connector on a lot of water bottles.

Other than that, it has a big opening so you can fill it easily and add ice, and a small opening so you don't spill all over yourself when someone hits the brakes at a red light. Simple and effective.

I've put it through several freeze cycles by freezing like 1/3 of it and filling the rest with water the next day so I have hours of cold water, and it has held up to this abuse no problem.

    Awesome!

These bottles are great! I had one of the smaller ones and loved it, so when it got lost I decided to upgrade to a bigger one. I definitely dig the half turn sprout cap. I've been using it for a while and never had a problem with weird tastes or smells that I have with some other bottles.

    Unanswered Question

It's a 1 liter water bottle but the tech specs says 25oz. One of these is mislabeled. What is the actual side of the bottle?

    I like water bottles

Yes it's true I like them, I've bought so many I've ran at of places to put them. This Camelbak CHUTE is awesome. It's durable and stylish.

Best Water Bottle I've Ever Owned

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this bottle every day. Love the wide mouth opening and ease of cleaning. The carrying handle cinched the deal; it's comfortable for days that I take a bag without a bottle pocket or one too small to fit it inside. It has only leaked on me once, but that was because I didn't close the top properly. If you make sure the treads line up, you'll have no problems.

This bottle has survived a couple drops with no damage taken; one being from the top of my stationary car, but most were from heights below 5 ft. The only place I'm beginning to see wear after 5 months is scratches on the top underneath the handle where the little cap locks in. The inner part of the little cap makes contact, causing the damage.

Dual opening is a deal breaker

I have been using an old nalgene for years and decided it was time for something else. I decided on this guy. Its AWESOME. I love the wide and small mouth opening on it. Its really convenient and is easy to drink from. I bought one for myself and it was stolen by a family member so I bought another one.

        Great bottle size for cheap

Got this bottle to replace another brand that broke. Like the size and ease of filling and cleaning. Easy to drink from but doesn't leak even when bouncing around for hours in a pack. Also fits well in the dishwasher and the cup holders in my Pilot.

        Great bottle size for cheap

        AMAZING!!!

Camelbak, you did it with this water bottle! the chute top is perfect for those of us that dislike the bite valve! i wouldnt trade my camelbak cute for anything, bought two, one for me and one for my wife, we both LOVE them!!!

        Unanswered Question

The title says it holds 1 liter of water but the volume says 25 oz?

        Great all around bottle

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought two of these bottles so I could use one for my gym bag and the other for my hiking bag. I have found I use them all the time. I love that it holds 1-liter without being too bulky.

The mouth-piece is great for drinking and the handle does great with a carabiner.

These are now essential for any hiking or camping i will be doing

        Straight forward, thoughtfully designed

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Best of both worlds--the narrow mouth is ideal for drinking, and the removable cap/wide mouth is ideal for washing and refilling.

No leaks yet, and the cap holder is a nice perk.

        Great design

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I always have a water bottle in my hand and with most of them I get dripped on with every drink. This bottle has a great design that eliminates that issue. The smaller opening makes drinking easy and drip free even while walking. The larger cap is a little difficult to get off to refill but it is a minor inconvenience for the upside this bottle provides.

        Great Bottle

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this bottle for a missions trips to Mexico and I like. It's very durable as it's taken a few hard falls and drops. I will be getting another one for sure.

        Amazing Bottle

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Cool looking bottle and serves it's purpose. I love the screw cap which so far has not leaked on me at all (huge +). I like that the opening is not too narrow but also not too wide so there are no chances of spills when drinking.

It did take a little getting used to clipping the cap into the handle when opening but I've become a pro at that now ;)

        Better than Nalgene for day-to-day.

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought one looking for an alternative to my nalgene. I purchased a green one, and I really like how you can more easily open it with one hand (holding it in your legs or armpit as well) and drink without the huge wide mouth that spills so much. The main opening also is the same a a typical wide-mouth bottle, so it fits a lot of filters like my MSR Miniworks EX.

The cap IS hard to clip into the handle, but it gets easier as time goes on.

Some people have said the small cap leaks. One time this happened to me as well....ruined a book....but it was only because I screwed it on a little crooked off of the threads.

        Absolutely Love It!! But...

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This bottle has put up with a lot when I go to the gym or on bouldering trips. The durability is phenomenal but the small cap leaks water once in a while. This has happened since the first day I got it. The only way to keep it from leaking was to screw it on as tight as I possibly could, which takes time I really didn't want to waste on it, instead of just screwing the cap on til it stopped. Besides that I love it! Highly recommended.
